  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm just back from Mass at the Cathedral, and wanted to share one of the thoughts from the Homily:

We were reminded that in today's world, we are often forced into the position where we have to vehemently defend the Catholic Church, and that we become a staunch Catholic instead of being a staunch Christian.

We were then reminded that being a good Catholic IS being a good Christian, and that we must defend our faith, not just our doctrine.

good advice. i also just finished reading through on some site and oddly enough i heard a non-denominational preacher on tv preaching about the same subject. how we're all the body of Christ and that if one joint is wounded the whole body is. it was focussing on the untiy of Christians rather than the "denominations" which he said were the greatest deceipt of the devil. gotta agree on that one :)

You will not believe it EJ, but just today, I was thinking of the same thing during Mass at the homilie in my Cathedral *L*. About being a Christian first and foremost, and practicing within the Faith. About loving first and letting all the rest follow. *ss* Some things are not stopped by oceans...
