Want to start a Christian recovery group

Hi,

I am wanting to start a Christian recovery group at my church but so far can't really agree with the ones I am familiar with.

I was in AA for several years, NA for a couple years, Overcomers Outreach 7 years, tried Celebrate Recovery (attended 2 meetings, have ordered and studied their Leadership material) so I am very familiar with recovery.

My problem is I can't agree spiritually with any of these programs as far as instituting in my church.

Most are just AA 12 steps re-written and that's O.K. but I need something that points members (and their problems) to Jesus.

Are there any programs that I am missing that are more bible-based?

We all are being called out to bring forth our gifts. You have plenty of experience with these programs. Why not sit down and play with idea of your own version. Using scripture combine with good ideas you seen in use.

Also take time to research it as well.

Just a thought. Remember we are all artists, for we were created in His image.

I think you have hit the nail on the head. I have already been concentrating on writing my own version of a Christian Recovery program as I have alot of personal experience in recovery as well as extensive biblical study (12 years now).

But, I am exploring all the available options as I go.
