  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Wanderful prayers? My own wording in this. Wander- meaning to wander the world, suffix -ful, as in the terms "full", and "wonderful". I would like to get those who would not only shy away from prayer, but those whom of which, are only around for a specific time. Let us all join in prayers, as we wander this earth together, praying in one voice to further the glory of God. :crossrc:

I love your phrase! It reminds me of the German loan word "wanderlust," a strong desire to travel.

I suppose the "wanderful prayers" meaning could fall into two camps. One, as you wonderfully suggest, a pensive mental roaming for areas that need prayer (cf. "be clear minded and self-disciplined so that you can pray" 1 Pt 4:7 or "pray in the Spirit with all kinds of prayers and requests ... be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints" Eph 6:18). Two, it reminds me of how in prayer my mind tends to wander from its proper focus! Such is the travail on the trail of the travels of life. And the wonder that God hears the prayers of those who wander in the "wilderness of the peoples" (to borrow from Ezekiel).
