  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Seems to have generated a lot of traffic on #walkaway - assuming that there is more to it that what's being pushed by Russian bots, that is.

Reminds me of Chick Tracts where someone goes from being a strawman atheist to being a born again christian in 4 panels.
Yep, seems like someone's trying to pump up the R voters for some reason. I'm guessing the RNC and friends have a worry about R turnout and this sort of thing - pretending that there's a resurgence of R voters after some pretty bad mid-term defeats - might be part of the goal.

Right, that's all you've got--telling me to understand WHY blacks would be Democrats, but offering no actual reasons. Uh-huh, that means you've got none other than "RACIST!" and other programs that have hindered, not helped. Such as generational welfare, which does NOT pull people out of poverty. FACT.

Why should it be a gimmick? Because the economy has done so well under the Democrats? Because they have so much to offer minorities?

Hey, you're starting to get it.

Or maybe you think these things aren't true, which kinda highlight the problem here.

I'm not going to assume those people are lying unless I have proof. Sorry, I don't think like other people think.

I can't even begin to deal with this kind of misinformation. It's depth is so profound, it's like trying to convince someone grass is not actually green.

You know what you should do then? You should stay with the party of slavery, the party of Jim Crow laws

Guess they'd have to use Obama's time machine to go back and vote in the 1800s and early 1900s for this to make any sense.

Again, you're making the mistake of thinking that these sorts of Fox News echo chamber arguments have any sort of traction with the majority of people who don't choose right wing propaganda as their form of entertainment.

I doubt Lincoln has much of a chance in the 2020 primaries.

That's a non-answer that means you have nothing. Honest people can see this--honest people like Lincoln.

Read the article I just posted and weep. Democrat controlled cities, crime and poverty. Inconvenient truths esp. for minorities.

Please, continue to explain to minority voters why they aren't smart enough to pick candidates and that you're here to tell them why they are wrong.

This is the kind of thing I'd expect to read if a poster had zero facts to back up empty claims.

And as much as they like him, he's still not going to be running for office as a republican any time soon.

Please keep conflating "minority" with "crime and poverty". That's sure to convince minority groups to vote republican.

I'm not going to back away because of whatever that's supposed to be. They have been lied to about Republicans being racists. We're not supposed to say that because "OH you're explaining!" In reality, in my opinion, Democrats think they're not smart enough to figure out that Republicans are NOT racists and have much, much better offers. But they'd rather scare them for fear they discover the truth.

Still not scared away. I have facts on my side:

Among racial and ethnic groups, African Americans had the highest poverty rate, 27.4 percent, followed by Hispanics at 26.6 percent and whites at 9.9 percent.

That's almost 30% of blacks at the poverty level. How's that Democrat voting bloc working for them? See, I think they can do better, and I think we can do better for THEM.

Shame on me. I know. Shame on me.

By all means, continue trying this approach. I think you've seen the response in this thread from actual minority voters, but don't let the facts showing how ineffective it is stop you.

Still not scared away. Facts on my side, and the one person I know on this thread only misrepresented his position, which weakened it. I'm coming with facts.

27% poverty rate. Democrat cities in shambles. Anything other than, 'You can't say that' to offer???

Likely better than voting for candidates who seem to spin their base with the idea that minority = poverty and crime.

It does not equal poverty and crime but their inner cities are RIDDLED with poverty and crime. *I* do not think that is acceptable. I don't know why Democrats think this is acceptable, or at any rate, have lived with it for so long. And your assertions of "You can't say that" do not scare me. You do not know how closely associated I really am to black folks and I won't tell you, but suffice to say, I'm not scared. I'm not at all scared of you telling me what I can and cannot say.

Lulz, all black people are not in inner cities area, a lot of them are not in inner city areas, but it's understandable, this is the racialized term used to describe black people without saying black people. The same goes for words like urban. Most black people I know did not grow up in inner city areas, especially those in the South, but for some reason when talking about black people, the comment is "inner city", I wonder if they even know what that term means.

And it's Democratic. Democrat is a noun, you don't call them Democrat cities, you call them Democratic cities. What are they teaching in schools these days?
