When my wife and I first got married and went on our Honeymoon, we came to the US, and were in the opposite time zone. Days were nights and nights were days. One night a week or so into our marriage, she woke me up loudly rebuking demons. I guess she was asleep or just had been, and had been having a dream where she rebuked demons. This kind of thing rarely happens to me.

I don't remember the dream, but I woke up doing something like that this morning. I hadn't been getting enough sleep. There seems to be some kind of correlation there. I had an experience that seemed a bit more verifiably supernatural when I was jetlagged like this once.

I was talking to a very young, and even younger looking, church planter in Indonesia. He shared with me about dreams where demons fought with him and he could feel them hitting him. I asked him if he did 'spiritual warfare prayer' and he did. I shared with him my concerns briefly out of Jude. He said he could see what I was saying and accepted it.

My wife has had fewer of these dreams since she laid off on some of the so-called 'spiritual warfare.' You know the type that was popular in the 1990's where they would rebuke principalities and powers and all that to supposedly cure social ills in a city. I can't find any examples of Christ or the apostles doing that sort of thing. They preached the Gospel, healed the sick, and cast demons out of real individuals who were demonized. When Satan tempted Jesus, He quoted scripture to him and resisted temptation.

If you could cast all the spirits of lust out of a city, and you don't go win those who had the spirits, might they not come back seven times stronger?

Has anyone else had dreams where you see demons and they attack you or whatever? Have you noticed that if you have tried to rebuke principalities over cities or whatever, that this happens more often?

I used to have some very torturous spiritual dreams back when I was a missionary kid in Ecuador. I'm not sure I have anything profound to say about it though. Later, when I was about 16 I encountered my first deliverance situation, and found myself immediately rebuking the demons without hesitation. This was totally out of character for me, as I was normally rather quiet with that particular church group.

Aggressive spiritual warfare against principalities and such is rather stupid. Though I was a member of the Deliverance team back in the 90's when my church was doing this, I still kept it at arm's length. We live in a world with other spirits everywhere, and there is no reason to go and try to cast them out of everything!

Lev 18:25 "And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants."

Though I completely understand about the 7 times wicker spirits concern - so it should only be done by the leading of the Holy Spirit

I've had some but I dont go looking for trouble regarding that side of things and tend to leave it alone, I want no part of it, had too many experiences and am quite happy now living a life that has none of that in it. God is merciful.

But if something is going on - like God is dealing with something in my life then my dreams do become more combative and there have been dreams that were definitely spiritual where I was fighting demon/s and they are quite frightening experiences sometimes but Jesus has always come through when I call on His Name He is there and I know it is Jesus who wins the fight not me.

I personally wouldnt take on the principalities over the city! unless it was incredibly obvious God wanted me to pray about that.. we need to be sensible and wise
.it's not a game.
