  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hiya,
I was reading Genesis and about Noah waiting to come out of the Ark.
Gen 8:7. The Blessing of Rest finally came, when the Ark landed on Ararat. Noah could have said "Ive had enouth of WAITING and being PATIENT I am out of here now" but No he WAITS for Gods time and permission.
He sends out a Dove and waits 7 days He sends out the Dove again and wait again 7 more days. He then waits another 7 days yet again before waiting still for more time and for God to say COME OUT OF THE ARK. Gen 8:16.
God may be saying to you WAIT and WAIT and WAIT be PATIENT REST and REST in Me and then He will say Ok my child TIMES UP BLESSINGS FOR YOU NOW COME OUT OF TRIAL AND REJOICE in the NEW BLESSINGS.
Patience is hard but the sooner you and I learn it then the sooner we will be in that desired blessing.
Take care John

Thanx for your post, songz ... I just wanted to confirm that the Lord indeed pours out His blessing after a time of waiting and obedience.

I was becoming quite impatient in the first few years of waiting. It seemed that no matter what I asked of the Lord, His response was, 'Wait on Me.' It was frustrating and tiring, and I found I was often discouraged, even to the point of wondering why I was a Christian. :sigh:

I would say that within the 3rd or 4th year, I was becoming less impatient, I was starting to change my way of thinking. Instead of saying, "God, can I have?", I would say, "Lord, what do you think of this?" Once the transformation began, and I became more content where He had me at the moment, there was less pressure, less stress and less unhappiness. I began to focus more on trusting Him and leaving things in His hands.

Last year, God started my year by saying "Its time." I had told him that whatever His will was for me, and no matter what came my way, I was walking with him. Afterall, whom have I in heaven but Him? :) He has been true to His word, and I have experience many blessings this year - the fruit of obedience and waiting on the Lord.

No, I don't like to wait. I've always been an impatient person, but He used these last 5 years to show me that anything worth having is worth waiting for ... according to His timing.

Lately I have been starting to think, or is it realize?, that when I'm not consciously thinking so much about needing to be patient I feel "less pressure, less stress and less unhappiness" (as nhzname put it). It's a state of mind that comes and goes for me, though. Patience is hard!

John - Thanks for sharing an example from the Bible of the worth of waiting for God's timing and permission. If Noah didn't wait he would've probably found himself if some troubled waters...
