Why the Oriental Orthodox forum called " The voice in the desert " ??

is that due to the first monasticism in the world which was in the Egyptian desert
or for this verse :
Mar 1:3The voice of one crying in the wilderness (desert ), Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.

Apparently so.

On an older thread, the name came down to two choices:

Treasured Grace, Radiant Light

or

The Voice in the Desert

I like this one better, personally.

Frankly, A Voice in the Desert reminds me of St. John the Forerunner and St. Anthony.
Many of our great saints went into the Desert.
