And I also felt strongly that we should encourage our 6 yr old son to ask Jesus into his heart, I had been waiting for the church to do it, but felt that it really couldn't wait another day, so I'm happy to tell you that my son asked Jesus to come and live in his heart last night
Isn't is wonderful how God calls his people as one to pray! What an amazing God we have
Qidron said:Van...congrats concerning your son! I remember when I did Sunday school and Vacation Bible School...when some young heart wanted to get personal with the Lord, I would take him to his parents so that THEY COULD have the honors of bringing their child to Christ. To me that is such a precious opportunity...so the only thing that would cause me to take it up would be if the parents could not. I am so glad to hear that you got that blessing. THANK YOU FOR SHARING !

She does know that Jesus watches over her (she says that He keeps the "boogies" away at night). She also perplexes her Presbyterian Granny when Granny says that they need to pray, and Olivia slaps her hand on Granny's forehead and just hollers "JESUS' NAME".... Way too funny, gotta get a pic of it.

Does this mean we are to go out and proclaim fire and sulfur? Many times throughout history, people have done this on the basis of scripture. A grown up family member tells me that when she was a kid, she was taken to meetings she should not have been taken to. The adults thought it would be good for her. Fire and brimstone was announced, and people were crying in fear, thinking of their friends and relatives who are not saved. Even today she carries scars from this. She does not want to hear much 'last days' talk, or anything about the Antichrist at all. She does read her bible, and have been active in the congregation since she was a little girl.God is calling a fresh group of prophets to the task. Judgment must be announced, not because the prophet, or God - hates the people... Rather because God and His prophets love the people.
When God was about to judge Jerusalem, and the nation of Israel, he sent prophets... Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Micah, etc... and they called for repentance, warned of the danger....ReBjorn said:Hi everyone,
I've read these posts, and I can't help to find myself thinking
"How much truth is there to this? Could be.. but should this be of any concern to me? And even if these things contain truth, maybe even an accurate truth, how does any of this stuff apply to me? Is this not over my head? Would God want me to be concerned with this, even if there is any truth to it?"
Also, murjahel, please explain what it is you mean here:

I'm sure you understand what I am trying to say.. something may seem quite spectacular and a big deal. But even though this may be true, it may or may not be God's plan for a person to have anything to do with this or that phenomenon, for He may have something else planned for you. I'm not saying these things are not true - I do not have the expertise to test these things appropriately. I'm just saying that even if they are true, so what? - They may or may not apply to you. Ask HIM about it. Just some thoughts for the day : )
I agree, it is not right to say all is well when in fact all is not well. This is not what I meant to say at all, just to clarify that. I have nothing more to add, except what I wrote in my previous post. Thanks for answering.murjahel said:When God was about to judge Jerusalem, and the nation of Israel, he sent prophets... If your child were about to walk over a steep and deadly precipice, would you warn, or would you just give a blessing to them, in whatever was about to happen?
Of course, you would warn... So, out of love, God sends prophets... The message may sound alarming, but would you 'whisper soft words' when your child was about to step off that cliff, or shout a startling alarm to them to make them realize what they are about to do...????
