  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

I went walking in my neighborhood a couple of days ago and decided to go down to this river by my house. It's about 3 or 4 miles away, very secluded, great place to be alone with God. As I was walking I looked around at all the wonderful creations of God, the joyous symphony of sounds. The birds chirping, the wind blowing gently. As I reached the water, I noticed sandy white beach areas on the other side. I naturally walked through the river to the other side to get a better look (as this is the closest to a beach I have seen in a long time), it's then I noticed them. I noticed that all along the beachy area were hundreds of shells, which I knew to be oyster shells. As I picked them up and examining the outside I remarked how ugly they were, and how it must be tough for an oyster to live in such tight quarters lol. As I opened it up I noticed that the inside of the shell, was the most beatiful arrangment of colors I had ever seen. Unlike the outside, the inside was incredibly smooth and beautiful. It was then that the revelations starting pouring into my mind from God. We are much like oysters. Not in the physical sense but in more of a metaphorical sense. Inside our shell, is a soul, waiting to vacate this corruptible body into what God has for us. We are longing. From the outside, you cant see the beauty that's on the inside, until you open it up. The verse above says that we have a treasure that you can't see inside our earthly vessels, that treasure is the message of Christ. Our job is to show the world that they have worth, that what you see on the outside is only temporary. Like I heard once, "The things we see are temporary, the things we don't see, those are eternal". I hope that next time you see an oyster, you remember how much God cares for you. That this life is not the end of the road, we're all oysters, waiting for our great "migration"

God bless,
Matt

Brother Matt,
Thank you for sharing the revelation with me. I am still learning how precious man's soul is. As much as I envy you, I yearn to know how the Lord sees my brothers. If the Shepherd loves one lost sheep, how much more will he love the repented souls that bear the name of his Father? That's what I want to know. Please pray for me on this quest.
