Very interesting case about second coming.

Before I watch, could you please tell me if this is presenting a case to skeptics (providing physical/historical evidence) or a case to Christians (providing scriptural evidence)?

Mostly scriptural evidence

Revelation also uses clear language that it was all going to happen soon, similar to the rest of the new testimate.

I for one have no issue with believing Christ lives in believers right now and therefore doesn’t need to return in a physical human body apart from the body of Christ, the Church. He lives in me and all who believe. However, if he does come again in his resurrected flesh, I’m sure it will be for a good reason, but according to Preston’s excellent exegesis, we can’t use scripture to justify that belief without denying Jesus’ own words. Watch the video to understand, it’s very interesting. However, I understand it challenges strong preconceived notions and therefore very difficult to accept.

It's know as "Preterism" It's a theory which was been around for ages.

I find it surprising that such a clear and concise, scripturally based view, has been hidden from me for most my life. I first heard of it several years ago but didn’t investigate because everyone in my church at the time considered it heresy. Glad to have found the freedom to explore it more.

Just keep in mind there is also "Partial Preterism," and partial preterists will argue with full preterists. [And just a little f.y.i.---Full Preterism isn't allowed in many of the CF forums, just in those one or two forums designated for "unorthodox discussion." ;)

Well it can't be true because there was no nation of Israel until 1948.

The "State of Israel" was made by a globalist secular power that sits on many nations and peoples, which was alive (League of Nations), suffered a fatal wound, and then was revivified (Unity Nations), which has the explicit messianic purpose of peace and security, and claims ownership over Jerusalem. The same State of Israel which is explicitly secular and is infamous for its Tel Aviv "Pride" community.

Meanwhile, the Body of Christ is true Israel.

There are "full preterists" which is the idea that all has been fulfilled in the 70 AD event, and there are also "partial preterists" who view a partial fulfillment then. You'll find different view points on this.

Heresy.

What this is saying is the resurrection is past.

The bible clearly teaches us that the resurrection occurs at His coming.

Please don't be fooled by this nonsense.

  • who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past;

15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 16 But shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness. 17 And their message will spread like cancer. Hymenaeus and Philetus are of this sort, 18 who have strayed concerning the truth, saying that the resurrection is already past; and they overthrow the faith of some. 2 Timothy 2:15-18

Actually, I believe people are resurrected (born again) all the time, but when it comes to the prophecies regarding the resurrection of Christ and fullfilment of all things (so that God’s kingdom may be fully established on earth), Preston is saying that has already happened. There are still some outside the kingdom though, namely the liars and those who practice evil.

Again it's heresy to say or teach that Jesus has come and the resurrection is past.

The resurrection occurs at His coming.

  • Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming.

21 For by Man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each one in his own order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who are Christ’s at His coming. 24 Then comes the end, when He delivers the kingdom to God the Father, when He puts an end to all rule and all authority and power. 1 Corinthians 15:21-24

again

  • For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them.

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17
