There are many ref. to the coming of the Lord Jesus again --first for His Bride (John 14 -i.e. the Translation --"rapture" of the Church; also 1 Thess. 4), which is called "the day of Christ". Then the Lord's coming WITH His Bride and the heavenly host in judgment (Matt. 24:44-51; Rev. 19:11-16 to establish His Kingdom on earth --called "the day of the Lord". One might also see that when God purges the earth after the Millennium time and makes the "new earth" it is "the day of God". These are important distinctions.

John 14:1-3
Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there you may be also.'

Matthew 24:27-33
For as the lightning comes out of the east, and shines to the west; so will also the coming of the Son of man be.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory
So likewise you, when you shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.

Matthew 24:38
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

2 Peter 3:3
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, and saying, where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

1 Thessalonians 4:16+
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord

Matthew 25:31
When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory.

2 Thessalonians 1:7
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels

Acts 1:9-11
And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as you have seen him go into heaven.

Revelation 1:7
Behold, he comes with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they also which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen.'

Psalm 50:3-4
Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him. He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

Hebrews 12:26
Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.'

Revelation 19:14
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.'

If the verse is in reference to the devil than it isn't really a verse that can be used for validation of the 2nd coming of Christ?

He wasn't talking about His Second Coming, but rather informing His disciples Satan will be coming after them after He ascends to heaven and can no longer protect them in the same manner as He did while on earth. If you jump over to John chapter 17, particularly verses 8-16, on the night before His crucifixion, Christ threw a prayer for His disciples and all future Christians asking for protection against Satan because the devil is like a lion preying on his victims ready to devour.

The devil mostly target Jews because they are the apple of God's eye and Christians because we are the apple of Christ's eye.

John 17:8-16 Easy-to-Read Version (ERV)
8 I told them the words you gave me, and they accepted them. They realized the fact that I came from you and believed that you sent me. 9 I pray for them now. I am not praying for the people in the world. But I am praying for these people you gave me, because they are yours. 10 All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And my glory is seen in them.

11 “Now I am coming to you. I will not stay in the world, but these followers of mine are still in the world. Holy Father, keep them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. Then they will be one, just as you and I are one. 12 While I was with them, I kept them safe by the power of your name—the name you gave me. I protected them. And only one of them was lost—the one who was sure to be lost. This was to show the truth of what the Scriptures said would happen.

13 “I am coming to you now. But I pray these things while I am still in the world. I say all this so that these followers can have the true happiness that I have. I want them to be completely happy. 14 I have given them your teaching. And the world has hated them, because they don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.

15 “I am not asking you to take them out of the world. But I am asking that you keep them safe from the Evil One. 16 They don’t belong to the world, just as I don’t belong to the world.
