Vatican site down again?

It looks like the vatican website is down again and I have tried different pcs and google chrome and ie.

Maybe anymous is at it again?

I can pull up a cached page but it times out when I do a search. My other pc has no history going there and the site is sompletely unavailable.

So tired of these "hackers" they're just abusing the freedoms we have until they succeed in getting all the governments of the world to strip them away from the people. Just like the terrorists did with air travel, you can't get a plan anymore without being harassed and violated. The sad part about this is the Vatican website seemed like a easy target in that for me at least it's always loaded really slowly. I hope they manage to upgrade their network a bit and stop these abusive individuals from succeeding in the future.

Well to do that you'd first have to hack the Vatican site to get the IP Logs

Also most of the time it's just a DOS Attack, where they get zombie machines (mom & pop infected computers) to just send 100s of request for the pages.

Best thing to prevent that sort of stuff is get the Mom & Pops of the world to keep their AV & Windows Service Pacts up to date. That alone would kill most zombie machines that are used in bot net attacks.

Ah, as much as I would like to be a top notch hacker. to get back at the bo-zos, it would take to much learning and all sorts of stuff and I would have to be a white hacker. Wonder if there is such a thing as a white hacker. To be blunt IMO if they spent all that time, energy etc into something constructive, they and everyone would be so much better off.

And yes my puter is up to date and anti virus yada yada but if a hacker wants in, he's coming in - not the kiddie hacks but a real dude.

Yes, these act like denial of service attacks.

I used to do Data Security and I knew of free hacker sites where you can download different tools for free like key loggers, decryption software and so on. So, do not even need to be especially brilliant to do a lot of these things.

Earlier someone said something about the vatican website updating. I do not know how they are set up but just having a DMZ is not enough anymore. Redundancy and fail overs are good though and other things.

Exacty.

Even in the USA most of any cash received goes to charities. I think it is around 4.5 billion a year that the Catholic Church donates for chaitable causes in the USA. This is not boasted about but both the lack of boasting and the charitableness and total giving of the Catholic Church are fruits of the Holy Spirit and signs of God's work.

Yet, we have many that sue and try to make a profit from the Catholic Church in the USA. Moneys that would otherwise go to the needy and to spread the Gospel and protect human life.
