vaccinations/immunizations for missions

My wife and I made the decision to stay away from vaccinations and immunizations through some research and prayer. (We have 2 boys, one has aspergers) My brother and sister-in-law did the same with their daughter. Now God has made a call for them to go to azerbaijan for a year. So now what? They felt they had the peace of God to stay away from the immunizations they now need to have to go to azerbaijan. Any input on the bare minimum they would have to have, or any input at all would be awesome. More importantly they would appreciate your prayers about this.

I tell you, after working in Haiti for a half year, you'd have to tie me down to keep me FROM vaccinating my children. I saw first hand what these diseases did to families. I saw mother's torn with grief because their child died of a very preventable disease we take for granted because of our vaccines. I saw children deformed and scarred because of these diseases. These families would have given anything to have access to the vaccines we take for granted because we've never dealt with anything like this in our country.

Personally, I believe ultrasounds and oxygen at birth play more of a role in autism. I do get bugged that so much money has been spent on vaccines and autism with negligible results and so little money is spent on other factors a growing number of people believe to be a part of the cause.

Anyhow, you have to keep in mind, if you've ever stepped into a morgue in 90+ degree heat with no AC and seen naked children's bodies piled on top of other people's dead naked bodies, those images stay with you. If you've ever had to comfort mother's who lost their children to these diseases or talk with children missing limbs or otherwise deformed, you do tend to feel strongly. For me I'd have no issue with it and would get the vaccines.

I would too...God has blessed our countries with amazing access to medical care. I grew up in a third world country and saw children and adults alike die of illnesses that we haven't had in America for years all because we have the medical available to us.

It is still their decision and I'll be praying for them as they make this difficult decision.

One more thing...what are the requirements for them entering the country, when we moved, my brothers, parents and I were required to have immunizations in order to be allowed in to the country. Have they checked with imigration?

Thank you for your prayers! Its hard to know what to believe. I read a ton of information that says all the problems immunizations has caused and then I also read about how necessary they are. Who do you believe? All the more why I appreciate prayers because God always directs when we wait and listen. I don't know what is required of them yet for immunizations as they are just in the beginning stages of their mission trip. Thank you again for getting back to me and I will suggest that they check with immigration.

I'll keep them in my prayers. I hope to be working again overseas in a missions capacity as well.

I wouldn't get too caught up in why's and wherefore's of autism. My son is autistic and we tend to believe the ultrasounds I had or the oxygen at birth had something to do with it. So much money is poured into vaccine research and nothing has really been discovered and no studies claiming results seem to be repeatable. Whereas so many of us who have children with autism had ultrasounds and/or oxygen at birth and so little money has been trickled into that research. Many of us believe the research is 'media' driven. The media runs with the vaccine horror stories and researchers get their funding based on the hysteria. I tend to believe some of that money needs to look for other causes. The thinking behind the link between ultrasounds and autism has to do with the fact that babies are heated up or 'superheated'. Some research indicates that babies in utero try to 'get away' when the ultrasound is used and that it actually sounds like a very loud jackhammer in utero. My son's speech issues have been attributed to my ultrasounds. I do wonder if some of his sensory issues are linked as well.

Please do let us know what your brother's family ends up doing. Even if they could get in country without vaccinations, I would be hard pressed to believe they would not get them soon after. I don't know the conditions where they'll be living but the things I saw stay with me for a lifetime.
