  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

"Nancy," an Iranian convert to Christ, is facing deportation from Canada on April 24 after failing to convince an Immigration and Refugee Board judge that she is a Christian.

Wanting to protect her family in Iran, she has chosen not to reveal her real name. A friend in Tehran introduced Nancy to Christ in 1999 and she converted to Christianity the next year. When her husband was questioned about her church attendance, she fled to Montreal.

The judge who tried her case is unfamiliar with Protestant Christianity, so ruled against her because Nancy could name only two sacraments and did not use the term "holy communion" for the receiving of bread and wine.

Canadian officials decided that Nancy does not face a risk of persecution and is probably looking for economic opportunity rather than sancutary from persecution, although her family in Iran is already under surveillance by the authorities.

Nancy has said she believes her life is in God's hands. Pray her case will be reviewed by someone familiar with Protestant thinking and the deportation order will be overturned. Pray Nancy's trust in God will bear fruit for His Kingdom.

Heavenly Father I lift up Nancy to You in this time of need Lord. I ask that you bring conviction to the courts and that this is overturned. Lord you are seldom early but always on time and I believe that you will move on her situation. Lord your word tells us that the world will hate us for your name's sake and this is a prime example of such. Lord, we ask that Nancy be allowed to remain in refuge and in the free world so that in the end she may give You the praise and glory. In Jesus Holy name,

A-men
