• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

    If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

    If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together.   • Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

grrrrrr!!!!

a friend sent me a site that has pictures... she said something like "it's worth seeing all of them"... I only went halfway and I stopped....

"Post secrets"???? they are showing postcards scans and ... displaying them as if to say "this is the reality" but ARGGGHHHH!!!!!!! real abused victims don't go out sending postcards saying such things! ... they are SICK!!!... and people set the page up... the people sending this page through emails... they are so IGNORANT!!!!

sorry... I was just venting...

now this will upset... if you were sexually abused do not read this! --> there was this website with postcard scans claiming ot be real post cards from anonymous people... they were claiming that the post cards represents "reality" ... there are cards like the incest victims claiming to want to be raped... WHICH IS RIDICULOUS!!!... those cards are obviously hoaxes sent by SICK people... to entertain sick people!!!... There were a whole lot of different post cards... dealing with various abuses and suicide...

I was angry that people are sending out such postcards... angry there was a site displaying them and then claiming they represent the reality... the friend who sent me the link told me "it was worth seeing all the pics" ... she obviously thought what she saw was the reality... so I was angry... at how many ignorant people are out there...

I know the one you are talking about and some of them are pretty offensive to survivors. I would simply send her an email back saying something along the lines of thankyou for the link but i didn't appreciate the subject matter could you please not send stuff like this in the future etc.

*:hug:* I know how triggery that site is but they claim to be real life maybe some people have a sick perception of what real life is and what its like to be a survivor

Wow - I haven't heard of these sites but they sound pretty sick!!! I'm sorry that you had to see those pictures, some people will just never understand how if feels to have been abused or raped. It's a sad world that we live in. Hugs to you :hug:
