I am pretty new to the site..I have confidence that the owners and staff are doing all they can to fix everything that is not working properly..Besides prayer, I showed my confidence and my belief in the good christian works going on within this huge forum by renewing my ss status when it expired a couple weeks ago..I would just as soon my status as a ss doesn't show up for reasons between myself and God and a verse somewhere about boasting..

Everyone, once again I want to address that this thread is not to complain about what is not here, but to praise and thank the people that are working hard to get our site back up and running properly.

And it has been used for that, but the time has come to stand up and say that this is not good enough.

I keep hearing (from staff) how this is one of the biggest sites on the internet.

Most of what is wrong here at CF2 is just a matter of SIMPLE configuration.

With all of the supposed staff working on such a valuable and large internet site, these simple tasks should be addressed in a matter of days or hours, not weeks and months.

After all, upgrading to the new version of vBulletin was to get rid of the hacks to make it simpler to configure and maintain? right?

This site USED to be one of the biggest on the internet - 2.5 years ago when the "rules" of the board and the way staff was handled was changed (due to pushes from members complaining from atheist board for more liberal freedoms and for freedoms and equality here for non believers/other religions/atheists) more and more the ideal became self esteem and worldly issues and "my rights" instead of Godly ones and many senior staff left as did many members - then the push from the disgrutled members (many of whom had been banned for being unable to follow the guidelines here) became harder because they saw that the constant push had worked for them and watering down changes were made again and then more and more members left CF till it spiraled down to the 777 changes (which most know ruined it here) which resulted in half the membership at the time leaving and then Erwin ending up selling the board. (btw ive been here now almost 5 years)

People are still leaving because of the mess thats happened since then.

So no this site is no longer one of the largest (by far)- and membership is a little under a third of what it once was and drops weekly.

I hope that one day the site is taken back to where it used to be - honoring God first before anything else. I'd love to see it like it was - filled with members - so may forums here anymore dont even get a hit hardly ever anymore.

Just a reminder to my fellow members--- this thread is about updates coming to the site. If you have complaints, you know you can post them in the Report Bugs/New Features Suggestion tickets that we have.

Also, when you donated your money to the site--- you were told that there were no refunds, there were no special privileges other than the features being offered. It stinks that we had to have the upgrades and lose a good chunk of what we're use to--- but the bottom line is that those hacks were no good to the site, can NOT be used now, and will more than likely be replaced by better features as time passes.

So unless you're here to post about the updates Redstiletto is providing--- such as questions on what will be next, how to possibly use the new feature, etc--- I would suggest you take your thoughts on what you don't like about this site and how you feel you deserve your money back to another thread. I'm not trying to be rude to any of you, but this thread is simply not the place for that discussion. And Redstiletto shouldn't have to waste her time cleaning up this thread and fighting with you all.

That might be true, but if you just consider FORUM SITES and not every site, CF ranks as #14: http://rankings.big-boards.com/

It makes a big difference~~ CF is one of the largest online forum sites.

Adrian has been focused on resolving a lot of the bugs and restoring lost features. Part of the problem is we lost some data, including the details of all the site supporter features.

We have a basic list drawn up to give to Adrian, i.e. no ads, no wait time between posts/pm's, unlimited smilies, etc, but it is likely this is list is incomplete. Red is going to start a thread asking for the details and we can give the list to Adrian for him to complete.

I apologize for the delay on this. I will include a link to the thread once it is posted.

I am beyond offended by your attitude. I gave my hard earned money to CF and was promised by CF certain features in return - no delay between posts and pms for one. I bought something, I didn't make a donation. I bought a service.

Now would you be okay if you paid for a year of cable and it hadn't been working for a month? How would you feel about a rep from that company dismissing your complaints by saying we told you no refunds go complain somewhere else.

This is probably the first time I've felt like chucking it all and leaving this site. You owe me and all site supporters an apology angeldove.

Edit: Seriously, you have me fuming. I can't believe you speak on behalf of CF.

Ive done that - but you know after they sit there for weeks another admin comes and closes it and says closing because of inactivity so what good is it or they just dont do anything while you bump it till you are sick of waiting.

You dont think thats a problem to some of the members? I could care less about a refund because the reason i became SS is for more pm space and reps ability and no wait between posts (sadly the third i am not receiving as stated) but there are a whole lot of other things people were promised they arent getting and arent getting answers on either - thats actually breech of contract.

At the very least i would offer them all an extention of their SS status to make up for what they paid for that they arent getting and havent been getting but thats whats called good business.

SS is about the updates - but
I'm sorry its a waste of time to have to answer member concerns unless they are praising you all - can you please direct these good people to where they should be expressing these concerns since no one answers them anywhere else ive seen - that would be most helpful - thank you.

AMEN sister!! I am TOTALLY tired of the attitude towards members who Dare to complain about anything! And you know what? I Have praised the ones who are working to get things right but that doesn't mean that I'm not still upset! Good luck in being directed to ANY place where we are 'allowed' to express dissatisfaction.

I totally predict that this thread will also be locked after we are asked if CF should have been shut down for months until everything was perfect. I guess enough new members will show up to make the PTB indifferent to how current members and SS feel.

And to comply with the directive: any idea when we'll get our pets back?

Lee might be capable of many things Angeldove, but even he cannot rewrite basic comsumer law. It matters not one jot what we were allegedly 'told'. We did NOT 'donate' our money, we purchased a service. At that point we entered into a contract with CF for the supply of those services. I know not how the law words things in the States but I assume it is a similer situation to the UK. Over here we have legislation stating that a product or service MUST be "Fit for the purpose for which it is sold". It is glaringly obvious to all concerned that this is not the case with CF. Therefore, this is a clear breach of contract on the part of the CF owner.

I believe it was President Trueman who had that famous sign on his desk "The buck stops here". I'm afraid that in this situation that applies to the site owner as well. The buck stops with Lee. All these problems should have been forseen, and contingencies put in place, BEFORE he commenced these changes. It is unreasonable and unacceptable for him to expect the fee paying membership of this site to dociley accept this situation ad infinitum, whilst he continues to fill his pockets from ours. If he believes that to be the case then he has purchased the wrong site.




Ok then. I shall adhere to the directive at this point.

Please can you post here the much vaunted 'list' in full? We keep getting told that everything is 'on the list', so please can we see it?

What is more, can you please post it in order of priority, so that we can see how far down the priority order the things that really matter to the paying membership are?

Also can you show by each item the following information....

1) Who is responsible for dealing with each item
2) The date it was commenced, or the expected date of commencement
3) The expected date of completion and when that item will be operational.

Instead of patronisingly telling us to 'be patient', and that 'we know whats best for you', let us have a real degree of accountability for this mess.

Sadly, I agree with you sister. This thread will probably not see it through the weekend. Whats more, I expect to have many of my posts at least deleted, and myself possibly banned. I have already taken steps in anticipation of these eventualities.

Whatever problems may have existed during Erwins regime, he at least provided a degree of leadership and accountability to the site. Had there been a problem such as this back then, he would have come here personally by now to answer these complaints. This is totally lacking with the new regime, with the result being the situation now developing.

For the record, and I believe I speak for most of us here, we DO keep the tech team in our prayers, and will continue to do so.

Also an actual commitment by Lee that SS will be extended for at least the length of time we have endured loss of services.

If communication and previous features do not improve dramatically I believe this site may never recover from this *Upgrade*

Lee did discuss ways of comping SS members for the time without SS features, but its not solid enough to officially announce.

In the transition between techs, the documentation on SS features was lost, thus it needs to be reverse engineered. Please post any of the perks you can remember as well as any details.

The priority is the backend, not members features, not SS features, but the internals to keep the site stable. It is the foundation, and it needs to be solid. Once that is done, we will be rolling out the other features, albeit we do try to fit in a couple visible features every week or so.

If there is a critical feature you want as a high priority, make note of it in the thread.

As far as site size goes, we are one of the largest VB sites in the world, I think still in the top 5, at least last I checked. In the top 15 as far as message boards go. The numbers you see as far as online users doesn't tell the whole story.... In fact, the downward trend starting a couple years back has reversed and we've actually bypassed a number of prior records as far as stats go. This is not to say we haven't lost members, as we certainly have... However new member signups are way way up, and the number of lurkers is as well.
