  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yesterday a clip aired on Fox News about a new discovery. Large pieces of wood with sea shells embedded in them were found on top of a mountain in Northern Iran in the mountains of Ararat. The discovery was made by a team that had been on an expedition for the Ark. Now they know it is a vessel of some sort from ancient times. I could only find one link to it.

It has been belived for a long time that the Ark has been on Mt. Ararat when Mt. Ararat was still part of old Turkey. First it photographed by satilite, then an expidtion via helicopter, unfortunatly this expipidition was unable to fly in of film toward turkey, so it was almost useless as the ark layed on the turkey side of Mt. Ararat, this was back in 1989.

I have always believed that the great flood in the bible was localized too the now inland baltic sea. I am sure it would seem as if the whole world was flooding to anyone living in that area durring the collapse of the natural dam holding back the sea. Evidence of a world wide flood would have been left as a sedimentry layer the world over, however there is no such layer associated with a world wide flood or evidence for a mass extinction inherant to such an event. If there was an ark I believe that they are looking in the wrong place for it, and also due too the high rate of decomposition of untreated wood after it has been expose to water born parasistes it is highly unlikely that any ruins remain.

I don't know if this is a hoax or what, but here is the story.

"I can't imagine what it could be if it is not the Ark," said Arch Bonnema of the Bible Archaeology Search and Exploration (B.A.S.E) Institute, a Christian archeology organization dedicated to looking for biblical artifacts.

Bonnema and the other B.A.S.E. Institute members hiked for seven hours in the mountains northwest of Tehran, climbing 13,000 feet before making the apparent discovery.

"We got up to this object, nestled in the side of a hill," said Robert Cornuke, a member of the B.A.S.E. Institute. "We found something that has my heart skipping a beat."

At first, they didn't dare to hope it was the biblical boat.

"It wasn't impressive at first," Cornuke said. "Certainly didn't think it to be Noah's Ark. But when we got close, we were amazed. It looked similar to wood

At the very least there should be an official archaeological investigation of the site as they claimed to have found artifacts. That area of the world is historically significant anyway. Ark or no ark I'd be interested in the findings.

Actually, finding Basalt with it makes sense. According to the bible, the first waters of the flood sprang from the ground, which would indicate some kind of teutonic plate phenomenon. Basalt goes hand in hand with that.
There are lots of other ways the basalt could have made it up -- and the article claimed the piece of basalt might be a piece of wood from the boat. Big diff.

Anyway, when the bible says the water came up from the earth, it's talking about a primordial sea that Canaanites and Israelites believed was under their feet. It's not/wasn't.

There is a strong circumstantial case to be made for the Ark being located on Mt. Ararat, there are satellite images as well as eye witness accounts, as well as the fact that somthing is up there. I think the strongest evidence provided to date, is that the public is not allowed to view a decent image of the anomaly, and to prove the point, anyone can get online and get a satellite image of almost any commercial or residential property with a resolution that would allow clear identification of somthing as small as a drain in a swimming pool, with that in mind, if there is nothing but ice and rocks up there why not show it???

There is strong circumstantial evedince that the Ark is on Mt. Ararat, there are images that the department of defence wont release, there are satellite images of somthing, there are eye witness accounts, and there is a long local tradition supporting the Ark being there, and somthing is up there. I believe the strongest evedince to date supporting the Ark being there is the lack of a decent image being presented to the public. To make the point anyone can go on line and obtain a satillite image of almost any commercial or residential property with a resolution clear enough to identify somthing the size of a drain in a swimming pool, so if all the anomaly is, is rock and ice what is the issue with showing an image of it at an equally clear resolution????

I can go to the google earth website, look at a satelite photo and count the cars in a parking lot. I've heard that the government spy satelites can read the headlines of a newspaper left on the ground. It seems to me that it would be an easy matter for the government to get some good satelite photos if they had found anything.

Theory of Noah's ark

There are many different therioes on the ark and noah. Most skeptics point out that there in no boat, so prove to me that the bible is reality. Well lets run down the theroies quickly.

1. MT arrat - Traditional site. best evidence says that it is above 14000 feet and only accessable during extremely warm years. Much wood has come down from the Mt called Arrat. but none of it proves that it is from the ark or that there is an ark on the mt. It just proves that there is wood on the MT,

2. Durinpur site. - propigated by the now Deceased Ron wyatt. this site is located approxamately 15 to 20 miles south of Mt Arrat. It is a boat shaped structure and there is a stone with a hole in it and 8 crosses on it. Wyatt said that this is the site becuse the of the shape and location. And the ark came to rest on the Mountians (implying region, not mountian) of arrat.

3. says it is in Iran. this view is propigated, by BASE, i believe and is documented on viedo. It seem to be base on some wood formation, yet no boat.

4. Saudi Arabia theroy. This says that ark is in SA as arrat is refering to a region of lava rrt is all the hebrew implies the "a" is insterted by western transltors as hebrew does not have vowels. it is also base on the naming of cities around that particular region that seem to correspond to tirbe and city names in the bible.

5. The Armeinan theroy. This states the Ark actually landed in Armenia not turkey and is burried in an area know as the armenian stonehenge. the stone makers are claimed to have recorded the burrial of Noah and the Ark in order to preserve. Shem, Ham and Japeth as well as there wives are said to be burried in the area as well.
