  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi Universalist people,

I'm busy reading Thomas Talbott's "The Inescapable Love of God" and enjoying it.

I was wondering if there are any recommended Christian Universalist theologians that those of you who subscribe to this view could recommend. I'm looking for someone (or several) that look at the whole of Christian life in the Universalist sense - not just arguments for Christian Universalism. I'm pretty sure that this particular approach to soteriology will change how one views something like spiritual formation, for instance; or christian perfection; or sin and addiction; and all those sorts of pastoral things. A benefit of a site like Desiring God is it also talks about these topics - would be nice if there is some sort of resource like that but from a Universalist viewpoint.

So far, Google searches aren't producing this sort of thing - although I'm obviously discovering some history, and the tentmaker site is pretty useful.

Thanks!

Gregory Thompson

Change is inevitable, feel free to spare some.

I found an interesting series of links using the search term "Ultimate Reconciliation"
Links to Ultimate Reconciliation and Featured Sites

Since some of the links are ministries, there may be some resources like you are looking for on one of those pages.

a good exercise is to look at the strongs numbers in each passage and pick the "most grace" oriented translation option then see what you get at the end. blueletterbible.org or onlinebible.net have resources for those kind of studies.

Dear Hat Guy: Michael has provided amazing resources for our consideration. Searching them will require some effort on our part but will be worth the time spent. Let's add one more>>>>

Dr. William Barclay

Overview - William Barclay's Daily Study Bible

"Here is a tremendous picture of Christ. He is the fulfilment of all the hopes and dreams of Israel, for he is the Lion of Judah and the Root of David. He is the one whose sacrifice availed for men, and who still bears the marks of it in the heavenly places. But the tragedy has turned to triumph and the shame to glory; and he is the one whose all-conquering might none can withstand and whose all-seeing eye none can escape." -Rev. 5.13-
