I think you're just rambling for the sake of rambling at this point, timlamb. Bless your heart. You take God from being tangible and real to being some heavenly cloud you walk in that blots out all the bad. God is not just an "awareness" He is fact... you leave out the foundation for living. You can';t walk around this world claiming to be "In the presence of God", you are still in the world. Any pretence of that is and emotion or feel good, not a foundation for living.
I dont know about you, by my foundation for living IS in Jesus Christ. Jesus isnt just in the clouds He is right here on earth as well. If we just look, we will see Him everywhere we turn our eyes.
Yes, one can both live in the presence of God and at the same time still live in the world. Gods blessings are pretty cool in that way. Come on down and enjoy Gods presence.
Living in the awareness of the presence of God for many IS the foundation for living. And I dont see anything wrong with that. And for myself at least, having God at the center of ones reality is a greatly desired way to live life.

I thought the panther was just fine.*sigh*
Who would've thought an avatar of a panther would cause so much amusement. Never used to get this many laughs two years ago! Duly changed!
No doubt wolves are just as funny....
Anything to add on topic FOG?
I highly recommend this book! Let's just say that Scripture isn't kidding when it tells us that the joy of the Lord is our strength. Here's a link to "The Practice of Presence of God". These are conversations and letters of Brother Lawrence.

I thought the panther was just fine.
Whenever they start critiquing perfectly normal avatars or -- in a past experience I had -- critiquing the size font you use (I kid you not), that comes across as a signal that they've run out of steam and don't have any counter-points of substance to present to the debate. Personally, I thought the dancing banana avatar that was on here was rather comical -- and just plain happy! (Not to mention rich in potassium).
I guess you just didn't have anything else to say (no, you don't bless my heart, sorry)I think you're just rambling for the sake of rambling at this point, timlamb. Bless your heart.

Saul didn't know whom he was persecuting and he didn't know who it was that knocked him out of his seat. But Paul chose to believe.red77;52414602]Didn't Jesus also ask for God to forgive them for they knew not what they did?
You guys always point to Paul as some Saint appointed by God. He made a choice like we all do. His story is written down because he testifies to the saving grace of God, not because he was some kind of "chosen one".I don't try to "deify" Paul at all! I've used the exact same quote you use to say anything but!!!! On several occassions!
This is in error because I accidentally capitalised "HIM", in the sentence, I think. It was Saul who was given the chance and took it.But you say that 'God saw a chance and He took it'??!' Did God not know in advance?
Do you have any further answer to my earlier posts?
I really do like your signature verse though:
Micah 6:8He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.
The Lord "requires". Not suggests, nor asks, nor hopes for; He riquires what is good.
How do you "WALK HUMBLY WITH YOUR GOD" in the Lake of Fire?
John 5:39-40 ~ "You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life."My point is understanding and knowing the Word of God is far more impressed upon in scripture than standing in a spiritual presence.
"Bless your heart" isn't a job description, it's an expression of sympathy.I guess you just didn't have anything else to say (no, you don't bless my heart, sorry)
I just get ill at your interpretation of scripture:oJohn 5:39-40 ~ "You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life."
From a Biblical standpoint, "The Word of God" is Jesus, as opposed to the Scriptures which point us to Him. Scripture calls Him "The Word became flesh" (John 1:14) as opposed to "The Word became printed on high-quality Bible paper with durable hardcover binding and gold stamping."
The idea, therefore, is to progress from the word printed on high-quality Bible paper with durable hardcover binding and gold stamping to "The Word became flesh", which is Jesus Christ Himself. Scripture points us to Him, much like a road map points us to a destination. Once one has reached the destination, they dont need to keep staring at the map. Theyre there. Otherwise, theres a danger of falling into what is termed as bibliolatry.

You think you know the Bible well enough to quit reading it? No wonder you are confused. BLESS YOUR HEARTOnce one has reached the destination, they dont need to keep staring at the map. Theyre there.
no where does the bible say the lake of fire is purification!.
The Trinity is found IN the lines. The Father sends the Son, who in turn sends the Spirit, God to us in three forms. Lake of Fire purification is not even between the lines. The Bible doesn't say anything about the perichoretic nature of the Trinity either. Doesn't change the fact that it's still one of the most sublime pieces of theology.
There are lines, and there are things to be read between them.
I just get ill at your interpretation of scripture:o
Jesus is scolding the Pharasees because they claim to know the scriptures yet don't recognise the one the scriptures are all about:
You've totally missed my point. These are the Scriptures that testify about Me, yet you refuse to come to Me to have life."
WE do not have the Word in the Flesh with us, we have the spirit and the Word. We are expected to read and understand and folow and depend on the WORD, as written.
You think you know the Bible well enough to quit reading it? No wonder you are confused. BLESS YOUR HEART(really, that IS sad)
Evidently, you were simply expecting to receive what you yourself have been dishing out and assumed it was meant in a sarcastic rather than sympathetic way. However, not everyone here relies upon the sarcastic and bitter tone that those who "follow and depend on the Word as written" seem to in order to get their points across.Sounded more like sarcasm
The Trinity is found IN the lines. The Father sends the Son, who in turn sends the Spirit, God to us in three forms. Lake of Fire purification is not even between the lines.
