  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello everyone...

I've been seeing some disturbing behavior in our forum the last few weeks and I think it needs to be addressed.

This forum is about uniting Christians. We are all wearing different "labels" whether we know it or not. We've all been raised different ways, with many different views on Christianity and what church is the RIGHT church.

This is NOT the place to debate who is right and who is wrong. It's a forum to focus on what we have IN COMMON as Christians. It's too easy to give in to division. It's too easy to argue. It's too easy to allow satan a foothold.

I've been blessed to see the fellowship we've had here. It's done my heart good to know I can come here without arguing my faith. There are other places to do that if that's your desire. Don't bring it in here.

I'm not speaking to any one person, but to us all. Anyone is allowed to be a member of this forum if they agree with our statement of beliefs. If you find you just cant help yourself and have to argue about what doctrine is the correct doctrine...your in the wrong forum. Do we allow for debate among the membership...yes. But should that be our goal? NO! See...there's a difference between making a point vs. making a war.

Please...I beg you. Allow this forum to continue to be peaceful and united.

Do you guys realize that so far we have done what Erwin could not? We are indeed uniting Christians in our fellowship and love. Our love of the Lord is what matters and He commanded us to love thy neighbor.

Maybe this commandment should be our motto.

When we get to heaven...we will not be wearing labels on our foreheads. We will NOT have churches on every corner where we can worship according to our beliefs.

Right.

We shouldn't discuss anything or have disagreements about anything- especially things as important as defining Christianity.

If people don't agree with the majority, they're divisive trouble makers.

Trekkie, little spiels like that exists for no other purpose than to act as though the majority are right by default. Stuff like that is fine to believe when your beliefs are in the majority- so you can state your beliefs all you want. But when someone presents their opposing beliefs- they are the trouble makers.

This topic is for little other purpose than to celebrate the inability of anything other the majority viewpoints to be presented. And to vilify anyone who would post an opposing idea.

There are plenty of other forums to argue your doctrine in.

No, the purpose of this topic was to remind people there was a certain mindset around here that is allowed to present their views and anyone who doesn't agree shouldn't express it.

There is no debate so long as those that disagree remain silent. That is what you want- you choose to present doctrines and demand no one go against it.

Good Heavens! I take a litle nap and suddenly this thread has taken a U-turn.
When I saw the op, it made me remember why i came here (recently). I had some friends here, and I felt at home. I felt I belonged in spirit filled, but the threads there just didn't interest me, and the people here were so..nice.
Now someone comes in with the sole purpose of disrupting.
That seems to be their purpose here.
