I'm really unhappy with my church. I feel like they dislike my family and me very much. I'm actually starting to be afraid of the people in my church. I think I need help...

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

talk to your Pastor one on one and tell him how you feel. But overall if you and your family do not feel welcomed then it's time to move on to another Parish.

I agree but sometimes people don't like you just because your saved and living right, because remember not everyone in the chuch is doing both things. I think it is a good idea to express to him how you feel, maybe something might needs to be addressed or resolved.

i tell you a joke there was a Christian on a deserted island he built 3 houses 1 was his house the other 2 were churches and when he was rescued the rescuers asked why did you build 2 churches he said well at one church i got offended with i was telling my self so i left to a new church.... (HA HA) when god is working in you and you flesh is offended then at least you know he is doing a good job coz at the end of the day every thing your flesh loves your spirit hates and every thing your flesh hates your spirit loves so there it is you can A push your self closer in with god and forget about the people (make him your rock not the people) or B change church ether way you have to change and if you dont change your self i guarantee you that it will happen again at your next church. dont take that as a mean word it is only the truth that took me 3 years to swallow.

i totally agree with project. i, too, have struggled with this issue. i had to keep telling myself that church is my appointment with the Lord and as long as i treat it as such, he meets me everytime!
