Which is why -- when this question was brought up to the Jewish leaders of the Christian church in Jerusalem - in Acts 15 - they said gentiles need not convert to Judaism -- all they need to do is "keep the commandments of God" (1 John 5:2-3, 1 Cor 7:19) - the moral law of God and abstain from blood when eating food.
