  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone knows what this is? My spiritual mentor said I had this in a positive way.

He said its when you are being used or serving God without even knowing it. I'm still not sure what that even means.

Any ideas?

Biblical examples of being used by God even though not aware of it are not reassuring on that score.

John 11:49-51 But one of them, Caiaphas, who was high priest that year, said to them, "You know nothing at all, nor do you take into account that it is expedient for you that one man die for the people, and that the whole nation not perish." Now he did not say this on his own initiative, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that Jesus was going to die for the nation
NASU

Ex 14:17-18 As for Me, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians so that they will go in after them; and I will be honored through Pharaoh and all his army, through his chariots and his horsemen. Then the Egyptians will know that I am the LORD, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots and his horsemen." NASU

I would not call an unfaithful person being used as a simple tool (Caiaphas and Ramses) "unconscious faith."

Nor would I call it "unconscious faith" in someone who has faith and a desire to be used. His use might not be conscious, but he is conscious of his faith.

I'd rather call "unconscious faith" the faith of those seeking the Unknown God as described by Paul--because Paul explicitly affirmed that the God they sought was the true God. It's the character of Emeth in CS Lewis' "The Last Battle," who sought to obey Aslan even without knowing Aslan.

I wouldn't call Emeth's situation "unconscious". In fact, his conscious choices earned him the blessing of Aslan.

It was "unconscious" in that he didn't realize it was always Aslan who his faith was in.
