Is unbelief a sin?
I believe it is.

God commands all men to repent and believe.

If God commands something and we do not do it, it is sin.

Agree?
Disagree?

Thoughts?

Can men disobey God's commands? How is that? Is God powerless to have His commands obeyed? Where is His Sovereignty in that?

It is absolutely sin. Adam and Eve were early adopters, but we all got on board eventually.

Thanks.

I was starting to think I asked a very difficult, perhaps unanswerable question.

We are all born in sin. We are all born separate and apart from salvation. Sin IS, from the beginning of each life. To continue in that standing, not believing that He died and rose again, is a continuation of our sinful standing. God grant that every person yields to the call of the Holy Spirit to be Spiritually birthed.

So, if I understand you correctly your answer is, "yes, unbelief is a sin?"

John 3:18 He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Hope this helps.

That don't answer the question.

The question is, is unbelief a sin?
Please don't set up a question as if it were sound without using Scripture and then ask a question about it. I took the liberty of Googling this and found one reference to this and it is
Acts 17:16-32 Please read it all, but read 17:30 in particular.

This is actually in the Bible and I think you for making me aware of it.

Seeing this I would say that It is a sin as it goes against Gods commands.

Sure. But now you have to explain how man can disobey God's sovereign commands.

I really don't see this as a hard question, so i think you meant something more by it. To answer it as you posted the question, The answer is to the best of our abilities. None are perfect and none have not fallen by the way side, but the more we learn from the Bible, the more we have to implement into our lives.
