• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

and what worse.

You don't seem to be averse to character building experiences. Good for you.
I'm behind you 'till your nose bleeds!^_^

I've been to some secular sites, where flaming is condoned, and in my opinion, it's not that far removed from some of the things/arguiments found here.

No one is forced to post here, our rules are made for eveyones safety. When you have a BB this large you need to be aware that there are some who are attracted to these kinds of BB's just to harass believers, and some come just to cause problems for the moderation staff who donate their time and money to helping out here.

All our forums are moderated, but we don't have eyes in the back of our heads that is why everyone is encouraged to help out , if you see a post that is in violation of the rules then there is a report button located in each post, and you can use this to report any rule tresspassing.

Hmmm. I see your point. However my concern would also be over-moderation. If every one here was well behaved, would the threshold be lowered? Lowered to the point of mis-spellings=banishment? Or maybe I don't like person a's attitude=banishment? Also, how much money does this site require? Hmmm. Just a few thoughts.

:doh:If you like blasphemy and insults! I think that would be a bad idea. Yahoo Answers Religion and Spirituality section has been completely taken over by Atheists...and they are very, crude, juvenile, and hateful. If you don't want to read posts like "What parts of the Bible Make The Best Toilet Paper?", (seriously, there are 13 such posts at Y.A!.) then unmoderated is not the way to go!

Truth cannot be contained in any one religion; it needs to flow like a river or grow like the faith of a mustard seed. Moderators should be there to stop the non-believer from polluting this forum. But they should not be there to control God’s Word to their bias.

We have thousands of brother’s and sisters in Christ, some are in cults other limit God by their man made creeds dogmas and doctrines. They will swear by them; but the only way God’s people will ever be one is when we are allowed to hear outside our religious made walls.

Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

What is a cistern but a hard man made wall to contain water (God’s Word)

How about a "Come All Christian Forum" and let the most powerful moderator ever known to man's religion moderate. The Spirit of truth. The Moderators are there to control people not using scripture.

Dr Erwin Loh, owner and creator of this site, had this credo for it

This site has the goal of facilitating ecumenical discussions between various Christian faiths as determined by adherence to the Nicene Creed and the Trinitarian nature of God. Those who do not adhere to the Creed are welcome as members and participants in discussions in much of this site, but are required to respect these beliefs, even if they do not share them.

So it was not primarily designed for evangelism but to provide a safe haven for Christians to debate and fellowship without fear of meeting up with any of the 'nasties' for which the internet is infamous. Hence the moderators and the rules.

true. I can't go to yahoo's Christian chat area because its' not moderated. So, the muslims come in and bash Christians, and there is nothing anyone can do but put them on ignore. Anyone can come in and post links to porn or say cuss words or whatever they want. I can understand about not likeing the feeling of "cops" all around, but without moderation, it would be total chaos, and not worth going to at all.

I agree with you but at the same time there should be a freedom to speak scripture, as well as truth as you see it as long as it does not get childish, distasteful and discussing. We are searching truth here on the Forum and I have things to say that may go against a dogma or creed. If you can demonstrate a reality of truth that is not in the box then it should not be policed. I know of a man who walked the shores of Galilee who went against the flow of the religious teachings of His time.
