This forum has a glaring short supply of modern/sci fi games. So, this is a story based on the popular 1993 game X-Com. This is just a light shoot-and-blow-stuff-up game for everybody, there is no need to put on a show for anyone.
Far in the future, in the year 1999, reports of alien activaties have increased a hundredfold. Then, Paris is attacked and the inhabitants gassified with plasma rifles. There is now indubitable proof that aliens exist. An international organization, the Extraterrestial Combat and Orangejuice Makers(X-Com) {yeah, the last part is made up cuz' I'm dumb}, is formed. With the best weapons, technology and soldiers available, they defend the planet against the aliens. They fight in the sky, in crashed UFOs, in the city streets, on a paraphrased Churchill quote, and the underground alien bases, they only get to surrender if they funding nations decide to disband X-Com.
You play a soldier recruited from the world's Special Forces to X-Com. Grab some kind of weapon and get on the Skyranger transport.
