  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1 John 4:9-10
"God showed us how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him.
This is real love - not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrafice to take away our sins"

We live in a world where we are constantly being told about "love". From the TV and the movies we get constant messages of what the world think "love" is.
And we get infiltrated. Slowly we start te believe what we hear. We start to speak the same. And before we know it and even with out it we conformed to the world ideas.

But knowing God is to live by revelation from Him. (As Jesus clearly told Satan in the desert!)
And most of this revelation is about God himself. And God is love!
But if we view love the way the world views it then we can not know God.

But God promised that if we seek His face we will find him. This implies that He will reveal to us true love! Love as manifested by the father of Love.

I recently has the preveledge receiving another part of the revelation of God love.

God loves us.
God loves us just as we are.
God loved us even when we still hated Him.
God loves us regardless of who we are and what we do.
No matter what we do we cannot change the amount of love God has towards us.
God loves us so much that He will not leave us were we are.
God loves us so much that He gives us His spirit even thought we are still broken vessels.
God loves us so much that He will use us to change a broken world and in the process give us healing.

I urgently beseech you brethren to seek thy LORD with all the Heart and Mind and Soul.

Common add on some more "God loves ... " phrases.

Brother Heinrich:
It's good to hear from you again.

God loves to be loved by us. I don't understand why. It doesn't make sense, for God does not lack any. HE IS without our giving him glory and honor. HE IS without our love. But he loves to be loved by us. I hope the day will come soon when I can understand this.

All of creation was done for the simple reason that God wanted to create something (man) that He can relate to. And as He is LOVE. This would be a love relationship :)

Further more we must give the love God give us back to him. This is maybe hard to understand. Very spiritual maybe. But it basicly means that if we don't love God back it's unhealthy for us.

Brother Heinlich,

Yes, it starts to make sense now.

God loves to be prayed to. I don't understand why, for he knows my heart already. All my prayer lists and names he already knows. But he still loves to be reminded of my wishes. And he rewards prayers with grace, thus letting me know that I should pray more.

Yes He know your heart that is correct.
When we pray to him we have contact with him. Then some of Him rubs of on us.
Maybe then praying in the spirit would be even more crazy hey... because then only He knows what your praying ;)
But I think the one really awsome thing is simply the fact that we can talk to Him. Jesus made a way for us to spend time in the Holy of Holies, there where the High Priest could came once a year we can come every day!!!

And your right. God doesn't need us to pray. We need us to pray!

I wouldn't say God "rewards" us with grace. No "grace" itself implies that it is given. freely! not as a reward. Praying to God and spending time with God enables us to recieve this grave more effectively.

And lastly: prayer is not suppose to be only monologue. Prayer is suppose to be 2-way. This is very clear from scripture. Jesus said "My sheep hear my voice" And in acts we clearly see God leading his children in various ways.
But we need to spend time with God.

We need to get out of simply "praying" which has become a religious thing for so many of us so easily. And start spending time with our Lord and Saviour! What you physically do might not differ all that much but spiritually it might mean the difference between your prayer time being boring or the most exciting time of the day!

cheers

God loves to see me pray. I don't know why. Do my prayers go up and do something? God can do what needs to be done without my prayer. But he loves to see me pray. What if I don't pray? Will God not do what needs to be done? Does he wait until I lift a prayer?

I understand little. Prayer is too spiritual for my little mind to understand. But this I know: my Father loves to see my pray. Therefore, I pray, to please him.

God loves my praise and thanksgiving. I don't know why. HE IS and doesn't need a praise from a mortal. It doesn't give him new understanding nor new knowledge. But he loves my thanksgiving.

As I kneel and praise him, he fills my heart with heavenly blessings to the seams. I wonder if my small heart wouldn't burst. That's how I know God loves my praise.
