Just got the new U2 album - 'How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb.' It's awesome! Highly recommended to anyone who is into good quality mind blowing music.

The last song on the album is called Yahweh - made me think wow, hundreds of thousands of people in the world are buying this album and subconsciously listening to a song about God. The line 'Why the darkness before the dawn?' is awesome to me and means so much

Just tought I would share it with all you music loving guys out there!

If you havn't got the album get it!

Theres lots of spiritual tones in this album besides Yahweh. Anyway, the song is awesome, one of the best off the album.
Sure are! Only piece of constructive criticism I'd have though is that it's not just "sometimes" that you can't make it on your own...;)

I love that song...

at first the line "always pain before a child is born" confused me.
then i heard "i'm still waiting for the dawn" and "why the darkness before the dawn?" and it clicked.

child birth is painful... but its worth it, because of the outcome. Like my mom always said, its the worst pain you could go through, but when its all over you have a little baby to hold... and I see that as an analogy for life. Life can be so painful... but after its all over, if we have faith, we will be in a pain-free place, with God. And all the pain we suffered was worth it in the long run.

Yahweh is probably one of the best songs on the album.

I've been thinking those lines also refer to what Paul says in Romans 8:18-27.

'We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.'

I think Bono's calling for Christ's secong coming and the Kingdom of Heaven in 'Yahweh'.
