hello, I was wandering if anyone knew how it is possible to type Hebrew with masoretic pointing? I currently have the ability to type normal modern Hebrew (אבדג) but I was wandering if it was possible to type with masoretic pointing?

Thanks!

There are a couple of ways that you can type vowels in Hebrew.

(1) You can use the character map in Windows. Slow and painstaking.

(2) You can learn to use the standard way of entering vowels. The problem with this is that you cannot move forward and back between words while having the locks down. I don't like it.

(3) You can use ALT codes to enter the vowels. (This is what I do.) To do this, hold the ALT key on the left side of the space bar and use the number pad on the right side of the keyboard. Hold ALT and type the number code, then release the ALT key. I've gotten used to this, and I can do it very quickly this way.

hey he´s 19 years old, when we were that young we were also asking more questions than actually listening to the answers haha

At 19, I was already enrolled in biblical Hebrew 101 in college. ;)

The book of Ruth is an excellent text to start with! It's got all those feminine plural forms that are so uncommon in the rest of the Bible! Good luck.

Let me know if you've got any questions about the text.

Thank you very much. I am a new student to Hebrew, and my comprehension is about 20%. I have just finished reading through the Torah for the first time. Previous to reading it, I learned the Hebrew keyboard, but I did not find anywhere how to place the diacritical marks. You are a life saver and a great blessing. Now, what would you recommend my typing to practice the markings? I saw you recommended the Book, Ruth, to a member for getting familiarized with numbers and genders. Right now I am reading in Joshua. If you are wondering how, I read with the English right alongside and reference Strong every step of the way. In one sense, my comprehension is 100%, but that is a distortion of reality, because without the helps, I am afraid I get lost. Toda rabah chaver.....Gershom
