Various professing Christians might say that about Works, and be using different meanings by it. The works for them might mean reading the Bible, asking faithful Christians for counsel, praying earnestly, etc.; but the final work is not of man but of God by His Holy Spirit sealing one as a "child of God" ---which happens when one has the Lord Jesus in their heart as Lord of their life (John 3:16 & 36; John 14; 1 Jn. 5:10-12; etc.). Religious works and efforts will not gain salvation, though it might prove a good beginning; and good works by believers is right.

This wondrous work happens when one truly receives God's "....beloved Son", the only Savior, and is devoted to Him; for there is NO other way.

I know that works do not lead to salvation. Luke 13.25-27.

Perhaps you spoke differently than intended, and I sometimes misunderstand what one is trying to say. In any case we need to seek to be biblical and always honor God ---right?
