Tyler the Creator and Odd Future: Satanic Blasphemy?

Is anyone listening to Odd Future or their frontman Tyler the Creator? They seem to be putting the devil and blasphemy in lots of their songs and videos.

Here is a new blog explaining some of the satanic messages and symbolism from this crew that just won "Best New Artist" at the MTV VMA awards.

actually getting your information from Godly people is a biblical concept and proven wise. listening to people who are bitter and harbor unforgivness is not wise

I would cite the above as Exhibit A. Art is one of the few ways that human beings have to deal with, work through and find companionship within their own negative emotions. It is purely harmless and ultimately therapeutic. All too often the religious self-proclaimed authority on the expression of others is the bitter one- an 'uncool', uniformed person who not only believes that in the Bible he's found the teacher's edition to the universe but also sees anyone with a guitar rather than a harp as evil. Oftimes content is paramount to form. But you already knew that.

The guitar isn't evil its the spirit leading the artist thats evil, and it always puts its tag or symbol on the one its leading. much like a gang member tags his turf

1. Your example allows for absolutely zero personal responsiblilty/accountability.

2. I generally appreciate the pragmatics but I think we're looking at two entirely different angles here. The weightiest of my point is that even a song like, say, Deicide's "Father Baker's" is clearly inspired by a loathing for a type of person that neither you nor I would defend, but Deicide has had would-be experts and armchair crusaders alike reaching for their torches and pitchforks for years.

Oh there's always accountability!......or will Judas be let off the hook simply because satan entered him........we all can open doors we shouldn't, what happens when we do is completely our own responsibility
