Two worlds:

John 17:13-14-15, Jesus is speaking, "Now come I to thee (the Father) and these things I speak in the world, that they (the apostles) might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of this world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that you shouldest take them out of the world, but that you should keep them from the evil (one.)"

1 John 2:15-16, "Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever."

James 4:4, "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world in enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

Col.3:1-2, "If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set you affection on things above, not on things on the earth."

A few years back, the Olympic games were approaching. A certain question was posed to the athletes that were to participate. "If there were a drug out there that would guarantee you a Gold, or silver medal if you took it; but the price you would have to pay would be high; you will be dead in five years: would you take it?"

65% of the of the athletes said they would. These were young people in the prime of life seeking after the gold of the Olympic games; a goal achieved by few. If accomplished those who achieve it, would ride a wave of ticker tape parades, and be presented with opportunities given to few. But the price would be a high, they would have to forfeit their lives in five years.

Have Christian's become pawns to the world? Are we manipulated into thinking the way it does? Are you coming to the point of giving up your relationship with Jesus Christ? Are you about to make a pact with the devil in order to gain whatever your heart desires?

At the end of the cold war with Russian, many things came to light. There were U.S. citizens who thought the Soviet Union was the answer to their problems, and the wave of the future, so they gave up their U.S. citizenship. But when Communism was about to collapse, these same people now understood that Russia, under Communism was nothing but a slave state.

When they realized it, they headed for the United States embassy, pleading and begging to get their U.S. citizenship back. The results? they were taken by Soviet officials, and sentenced to long prison terms without trial.

Lets talk about the two world; the one we live in, and the one to come. Jesus asked His father that His disciples be left in this world. They were not of this world, as Jesus was not of this world, but as He was sent into the world by the Father, so also would He would send His disciples.

The world hated Jesus, so also did it hate His disciple whom He sent. So, what does the world have to offer? Its the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. What the world offers is temporary satisfaction, success, and joy; but than what?

To be in love with the world is to be in hostility with the Father. Choose, friendship with the world; or have your hope in the promises of God? Have Christians become so caught up with advancing themselves they have no time, or ambition to advance the kingdom of God? Most Christian's don't pray enough, of this I am guilty; we go to church and don't listen; we speak of Jesus, but our hearts are far from Him.

You say, "But I live in this world." From the day we were born, we have to prepare ourselves, and practice becoming a Christian: if not you will cling to the things of this world. We can live in the world, and seek after a career, a family, and God; as long as God is first, and not second, or third.

We yearn to be winners. Scriptures reveal to us that this world, and the things of this world are going to pass away. Everything in it will be burned and consumed by fire. There will be a new heaven and a new earth.

We are all born to go to hell, but by the grace of God, the work of Jesus Christ, the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and from the mouth of His disciples who expound His truths, we can all be successful in Christ; By the grace of God, we can be christian in body, in heart, and spirit, becoming one with Christ Jesus.
