I thought it'd be good to have a place for all of us currently Trying To Concieve or planning to TTC, or even thinking about TTC; to just chat, ask for help and offer advice without having to start another topic or hijack others ;) :)o) Also any ladies out there who have already been there, anyone who can offer advice, words of wisdom or just to let us know others have come out the side smiling...would be great ^_^

So let's start, who out there is TTC (or thinking about it) ? C'mon in!

I will go first.

Hi my name is tigercub and I have been married for one year and four months...my husband and I have been TTC for about 4 months now :sigh:

That's great news SweetBella! - with a GP or fertility specialist?

I am trying to get my husband to go to a doctor to get tested because a few years ago he accidentaly ingested some nasty chemicals at work (chemicals which have been known to cause infertility) :(

Hey girls!!! I am kinda trying to conceive. We don't believe in birth control of any form. But now we are really wanting another child. We have been married for 3 years, and have a 2 year old daughter. Thanks for the thread tigercub. Baby dust to you both!

Thanks WnP! :hug:

Before I confuse anyone I should do a quick list of Acronyms I have picked up from various baby forums and stuff. I also found a concise list on this page

TTC = trying to concieve
BFP = Big Fat Positive
BFN = Big Fat Negative
AF = Aunty Flo which is a nice term for menstruation)
AI = Artificial Insemination
BBT = Basal Body Temperature
CD = Cycle Day
CM= Cervical Mucus

Is anyone else charting? I am using this site
If we don't fall pregnanct soon we will start temping (using a BBT thermometre) and perhaps using MaybeBaby

I'm not 100% sure how he feels about getting tested to be honest, we only really discussed whether or not those chemicals could have effected him the other night so I guess we will see.

I saw a GP awhile ago to have my ruebella immunity tested, I also enquired about a pap smear but he didn't seem to think it was warranted (even though I have never had one :eek:)

Hmm primrose oil - what is it supposed to do?

i *heard* that its not good to use lube when TTC because it can kill sperm, does anyone know more about this and if this is true, do you have any other ideas for things to use in place of it?

It's true...some lubes are harmful to sperm. Try this stuff

Yeah I thought it weird he didn't give me one too...In australia sexually active women are always being told/reminded to get one anually! I might find a new GP and get a referral to a gyno.

I think this thread is a good idea :) I was recently ttc, so I've been there. If you girls ever want to throw your charts out and obsess, I like to obsess. I like to look at charts too. Heehee.

What did it for us was drinking green tea everyday from the first day of my period until ovulation day. It helps you get lots of CM that way the "boys" can swim good. :D

I would share my chart if I had any idea how to :scratch:

Besides that I think it's useless...I have irregular cycles, one cycle was 37 days long, the next 28, then 32...and so on :eek: Very confusing. Have been relying on CM so far.

Green tea eh....interesting :confused:

That's not that irregular! Temps and cm? You should still be able to see ovulation and then count the days until you "know"

Will start temping when I eventuaslly buy a BBT thingie....

Am trying to figure out how many days fromm the end of AF til ovulation on average...it's confusing though :scratch: :eek: :help:

Maybe I will buy some green tea soon...I just remember drinking it in year 10 Japanese class...and almost spitting it back out! Yeuch

okay, i have asked this many times and i get so many answers, but let me try again and see what happens...

do we still ovulate when we don't get a period?

UPDATE: i just found this on a site, "If you don't ovulate, you won't get your period, so you'll skip a period for that month." ... so, its not that my period is causing me not to ovulate, its me ovulating thats not bringing on the period. so.. the next question is, how do i get myself to ovulate?? well, i did just start the primrose oil so that may help!! okay, yeah so i am having a conversation with myself here.. lol!

I have been Googling my little heart out on this one! From the (minimal) information I have read..Ovulation determines our mestruation and vice versa...could you have amenorrhea? Meaning you just don't ovulate? This is the page I found on it
