  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Trying times are all around us,
Circumstances, they confound us,
Memories past they sometimes hound us,
Give them all to God, He’ll help us.

Hurtful memories often linger,
Raw emotions they may trigger,
Makes no sense, but so go figure.
God is sovereign, and He’s bigger!

Sometimes people unforgiving,
They’ve not been where you are living,
Not in Christ are they believing,
Listening to the lies deceiving.

Can’t turn back the clock, no matter,
People filled with empty chatter,
Lies about you they may scatter,
While each other they may flatter.

Give them all to Jesus ever,
Trust in Him forever after,
Let them go, embrace Him rather,
Life in Him is all that matters.

Yes! Ain't that the truth! These are testing times, will we trust our God when all else around us is crumbling into dust and ashes. None of us are going to get through today's hard times and life's struggles unscathed, but God will find a way where there is no way. Back in the late 1980's, I was very ill with M.E. for three and a half years. I kept reading the following bible verses:

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word. (Psalm 119:67)

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes. (Psalm 119:71)

I know, O Lord, that thy judgments are right, and that thou in faithfulness hast afflicted me. (Psalm 119:75)

I don't believe that Christians are afflicted for nothing and nothing that happens to God's people ever happens without it being part of His will for their lives. When bad things happen to us, God means it for good. Job said when He has tried me, I shall come forth as Gold. He knows that we are, but dust and a bruised reed He will not break and a smoking flax, He will not put out.

The bruised reed shall become strong again and the smoking flax shall become on fire for Him. We learn to trust him in our hard and trying times!

I have a song for us to listen to. The words are from a Psalm and it is worth listening to the words. The song is called "Highways to Zion" by "Chuck King". Enjoy!

Highways to Zion, by Chuck King

There's a whole album on the website, so there are other songs there as well. The song speaks about passing through the valley of tears on our way to the city of our God.

Thank you. I appreciate you sharing your testimony with me and the encouragement you gave and the song, too, which I will listen to later. Yes, our trials and our afflictions are meant for our good to mature us in our walks of faith and to teach us to rely on God and not on ourselves, etc.
