Hi there,

Just wanted to get your thoughts on the notion that "truth descends, through hierarchy".

If you are confused (sometimes people are) I think what Terence is trying to get at, from the context given in his discussion -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DScLovFUAk - is that society recognises that there is power in mimicking truth and it organises itself around being the one to hand out that power, but that we can take the power back - in a sense.

I wonder if this limits you though, I wonder if truth in its rawness, in its purest state of hierarchy would free you...

I don't like the peddling of psychedelics as a quick path to or alternative to religious experience.

In Sam HArris new book "Waking Up" he discusses and even advises on which drugs to use, IFAICT from reading summaries.

Lets face is the enemies of our civilisation would laugh if they thought that a fair percentile of intelligent people (and I have known some) were wasting their lives and brains getting high.

I was reading a book last night (Bhagavadgita commentary by Radhakrishnan) and came across this quote.

"Absolute being, the one Godhead, is behind and beyond the world and in the world; He is also the Supreme Living God, loving the world and redeeming it by His grace. Why is the world what it is with its graduated hierarchy? We can only say, it is the nature of the Supreme to express itself in this way. We cannot account for the fact of the world but can only construe its nature, which is a strife between being and non-being in the process of becoming."

How can you become if there is nothing to overcome as you get there? Law is a guardian and restriction to the flow of time (faith overcomes / Gal 3). Time keeps everything from happening at once. God is there at the end waiting for us to arrive through the Word (story) he tells.

Baptism is involution into the image of Word so that we can rise to NEW life. He is not wanting a copy of Himself, but an individuation unique to his own image. Individuality is the process to move from death (non-being) to life (Being). In between, we become (Evolve).

I explain this in detail in a thread from last night: Construing the Nature of God

I do find this interesting.

I'm not sure if you just need to object to waste? That seems a little shallow itself?

But hierarchy being a necessary obstacle, makes sense and the connection with the law is relevant, since it is the law that gives the hierarchy meaning - I suppose abstractly?

The thing I wanted to understand is, how does truth coming down from a hierarchy affect the truth? Is it truth in its purest form, if the one using the hierarchy does it for the sake of the hierarchy or the people in it?
