It is Papist. While the sun was setting I went downtown to the Fire and Ice Festival and looked at the ice sculptures. A shop was giving out free cookies and spiced cider. I had a nice chat with the owners and workers there. I later spent time listening to the music that was coming out of loudspeakers and watching ice sculptures being made. Browsing shops, taking photos of the sculptures for my blog and Facebook. I had a good Valentine's Day and I didn't need a date!

IMHO its all what you make of it. It might have some weird origin, but that is not to say you cannot use that day for your convenience and go out with your love and spend some nice time. Of course you might do that on any day you see fit...

It's interesting that most people agree with the pagan/satanic origin of valentines day because it has no 'Christian' association.

When I posted the same evidence about Dec 25, the defenders of tradition were out in force. I wonder what response an exposé on easter will bring?

You will see the same thing and even worst because they want to keep pagan days. Yet, they refute YAHWEH'S Holy Days and try to say Paul is over YAHWEH! They will get mad and say you are not an SDA because you stand for truth and refuse all of the Catholic lies, such as the cross instead of a piece of wood YAHSHUA die on, THE SACRED NAMES, the calendar created by Pope Gregory, midnight instead of evening to evening makes a day, pagan feast instead Convocation, Holiday (most don't know it means holy day) instead Holy Day and it goes on and on!

No they were not! That too is a lie and they were not call feast. That is a pagan word because all people in all ages kept unholy days opposite the True Holy Convocations. The Sabbath and the annual Holy Days are Statutes or set time. This Law was given in Gen 1:14 and all new versions of the Bible declares it. However some of theme use the pagan words festival or feast. The pagan word feast means exactly what it says. On their unholy days they choose around their pagan gods they worship, they eat and over indulge. YAHWEH Holy Convocation you eat less. The passover was a meal and not a day. It was introduce to be eaten just before midnight of the Holy Convocation of Unleavened Bread.

And you shall observe this Word for an ordinance for you, and for your sons forever. And it shall be, when you come into the land which YAHWEH shall give to you, as He has spoken, you shall observe this service or ritual. Ex 12:24, 25

This service was only be kept by Israel for a promise to YAHWEH.

YAHSHUA introduce in place of the passover supper a new supper:

And on the first day of the Feast of Unleavened, the disciples came to YAHSHUA, saying to HIM, Where do you desire we should prepare for YOU to eat the Passover? Mat 26:26 And as they ate, taking the bread and blessing it, YAHSHUA broke and gave to the disciples, and said, Take, eat; this is My body.And taking the cup, and giving thanks, HE gave to them, saying, Drink all of it. For this represents MY blood of the New Covenant which concerning many is being poured out for remission of sins .Mat 26:17, 27, 28

However, the Holy Convocations were to be kept by all mankind.

And ELOHIM Said, Let light sources be in the expanse of the heavens, to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs and for Holy *Convocations, and for days and years.Gen 1:14

Then ELOHIM Said, "Let there be lights in the sky. These lights will separate the days from the nights. They will be used for signs to show when special meetings begin and to show the days and years. (ERV)

Then ELOHIM Commanded, "Let lights appear in the sky to separate day from night and to show the time when days, years, and religious festivals begin;

Speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them, The set Holy Times of YAHWEH which you shall proclaim as holy gatherings (Convocations), shall be these: These are MY Appointed Set Time: Lev 23:2

Now, I want ask you do you think Paul could or even would change YAHWEH'S Time? Here is what Paul says:

I am shocked that you have so quickly turned from ELOHIM, who chose you because of HIS Wonderful Kindness. You have believed another message, when there is really only one True Message. But some people are causing you trouble and want to make you turn away from the Good News about YAHSHUA! But even if we, or an angel out of Heaven, should preach good news to you beside the Good News we preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, and now I say again: If anyone preaches good news beside what you received, let him be accursed. For do I now, persuade men or ELOHIM? Or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I would not be a servant of THE MESSIAH. And, brothers, I make known to you the Good News preached by me, that it is not from man. For I did not receive it from man, nor was I taught it, but by a revelation of YAHSHUA MESSIAH. Gal 1:6-12

Today the so call Christians, including Adventist keep the unholy pagan feast days. They were reintroduce by the Catholic Church and they tell very clear what they think they are able to do:

A. By the very act of changing the Sabbath into Sunday, which Protestants allow of; and therefore they fondly contradict themselves, by keeping Sunday strictly, and breaking most other feasts commanded by the same church.
Q. How prove you that?
A. Because by keeping Sunday, they acknowledge the church’s power to ordain feasts, and to command them under sin; and by not keeping the rest [of the feasts] by her commanded, they again deny, in fact, the same power.

On December 13, 1991 the members of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops of the United States of America made the following general decree concerning holy days of obligation for Latin Rite Catholics:

January 1 - Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
The Ascension of Our Lord - Observed on the seventh Sunday of Easter or on the Thursday after the sixth Sunday of Easter
August 15 - The Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
November 1 - All Saints' Day, the evening before is Halloween for the dead
December 8 - The Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary
December 25 - Christmas, the Nativity of Our Lord

Finally, Paul was telling the Greeks in Colssians what was and what wasn't nailed to YAHSHUA tree! The Hebrews wanted them to keep the Mosaic laws and were judging because they were keeping the Holy Days and not sacrificing like they use to on these and every day. Paul said the Hebrews were not to judge them on keeping the Holy Convocation and if you notice he included the Sabbath also!
