Trusting God's Perfect Timing
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
Romans 8:25
Some time ago one of my good friends had just gotten out of a dating relationship with a girl he had met in church. The break up left him mentally and emotionally out of his usual self for weeks, literally. One evening we got a chance to talk about the situation and the kind of thoughts he was feeling. And in spite of all the pain and all the heartache that he had endured, I discovered that he still was able to find the good out of a hurting situation. As we were chatting he said, “You know, I thought she was the one. She was it. But to know now that she wasn't, it amazes me to know that God has someone better in store just for me up the road.”
I thought to myself, “Wow, what an attitude of thankfulness to have.” Thankful, because he knew he was one stride closer to God's will and what He wanted for him…. or in this case, what God didn’t want for him. Have you ever noticed that God's timing is perfect always? Do you remember the story of when Jesus began his ministry? He was thirty years of age. Thirty! Most people nowadays are constantly in a rush for the next stage of their lives, and all too often forget to take time and ask, “Is this something that God wills for me to do right now at this very moment, or am I just doing this for my pleasure, my sake, and my happiness?”
Like my friend, perhaps the aspect of dating has been an issue for you at one point or another. I have heard of numerous people who purposely lowered their standards from first class Godly qualities to lesser ones merely because there wasn't anyone for them to date at that moment. How foolish! I have learned that a time of singleness can be used so much more wisely on pleasing God because so much more of your time and energy can be spent on meeting Gods needs, fulfilling Gods desires, and praising God's glory. I don't suggest that it is impossible to please God when in a relationship, I am suggesting however that you should emphatically be rooted in a deep relationship with the Lord before ever thinking of launching a relationship with someone of the opposite sex. A right relationship with God undoubtedly promotes a right one with others.
So remember…be patient and trust God in whatever your situation might be, because His timing is perfect, always and forever.
Trust in the Lord with all of your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Have a Great Day!

Philippians 3:10 - [For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death...
