  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Trump is threatening to take territory from a fellow NATO member, seems set on splitting the alliance may split the alliance by illegal and contemptuous actions and has managed to insult the veterans of his allies who saw comrades fight, die or be severely wounded in combat alongside the USA.

Putin and Xi Jinping must be laughing their heads off as Trump is doing exactly what they want.

The new US national defense strategy uses a comparison of non US NATO GDP with Russian GDP (not PPP) to make the point that Europe should be able to handle Russia using its own resources with only minimal US involvement. The US wants responsible worthy allies not weak freeloading ones. But it is clear that the rhetoric here has clearly outpaced the reality as NATO allies have expended considerable blood and treasure supporting US interests in recent decades. Some acknowledgment of that by Trump would go a long way to restoring broken relations. Also America has no right to simply annex the sovereign territory of an ally. It seems the US wants NATO to stay in place but it seems to be doing its darndest to split the alliance by illegal and contemptuous actions.
