  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I want to first say, that, as some of you know, I was an advocate against BOTH Trump and Kamala. Why? Kamala's policies would absolutely ruin our country. And Trump's character flaws are massive... YUGE, you could say. But! As I sat and thought about what candidate made the "most sense," I had no other options. The person I WAS going to vote for was Peter Sonski of the American Solidarity Party. I was on record here on this site, saying that is how I would vote. Obviously, the biggest issue to me is abortion. Sonski is right about that issue. I make no apologies about that. But! Peter Sonski is also a socialist. So I was left with a very difficult decision. Abortion is a huge issue. It's the number one issue for me. Fewer people dying is good. More people dying is bad. That's just common sense. However, given that Sonski is a socialist, and knowing that everywhere socialism has been tried, it has horribly failed, and given the fight in the Middle East, I support the plight of the Jewish people and want fewer people to die in the Middle East, and given that Trump would let Israel defend itself and end this stupid war, which WILL lead to fewer people dying than if it was dragged out for years, and given that Trump is totally against the mutilation of children's bodies, who are simply confused or have mental issues, with the thinking that abortion will not be ended in 2024, or 2028, or probably even 2032, I decided to vote for Donald J. Trump. This was a decision I made about two days before I voted on the 29th of October.

Presidential Vote 2024.jpg

Having said that, if I am any representation of the people at large, and I think I am in some ways, this goes to show that Trump, though he is not perfect, though he has severe flaws, he did enough to not only win the electoral college but enough to in all probability, win the popular vote as well, which has not been done for a Republican since 2004 when George W. Bush ran for re-election. With all the insanity of the Trump campaign, including two assassination attempts, bankruptcy, and trying to make him a felon, he is still our president for the next 4 years and I am thankful to God for that.

So your post demonstrates I'd say a sound way of thinking. Yes there may be a variety of things you didn't like about Trump but you weighed your options and they took you to the best conclusion given the circumstances.

I love Trump.
I got to ask, Why?

Is it his speaking style? His language? His vulgarity? His character" His whiteness? His masculinity?

What is it you love about him?

Maybe his leadership skills, his plain speech, and no-nonsense attitude?

His orangeness.
I saw someone who posted on Fr. Jim Martin’s page calling Trump an “orange monkey” because he wasn’t keen on LGBT nonsense.

This might be a little too real, but America seems to be fueled by hate these days (on both sides). It is very disheartening.

You can say the same about Harris as well. It’s a two way street.
Not when he suggests injecting disinfectant. And he did say that. No spin.

True no matter which way the vote went. We are a highly polarized nation. Why? Because outrage is more newsworthy. It pays.

You can feel he is the better choice for this country and not love everything about him.

How did Trump suggest hate IF anything that would be the democrats that feel we should accept everything and have forced deversity everywhere. Of course not all democrats are like that.

I got evacuated by two hurricanes, so my vote, which was for Harris ended up in a storage unit, not the post office. I feel God put Trump into the white house for a reason, not as Hitler, but rather Judas, who will end up as St Peter in the end of it all. I see Trump obtaining God's will by accident, not his own will. We'll see.

I cant "feel" that at all. In fact just the opposite for our country. And I am not a Harris person either. No love either candidate.
