  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Cool!

I love when Presidents choose a side in social discussions happening in the country. This is sure to bring us closer together!

Maybe the cops look like his sons and daughters?

I'm a bit out of the loop, and British, so tell me. Has Trump actually done anything yet? All of these gestures and various talks he does just seem like a distraction. He seems to be procrastinating from what needs to be done by waving his arms around and talking a lot.

Has Trump actually done anything yet?

It depends on what you mean by "done anything".

If you ask staunch anti-Trump left wingers, he's destroyed foreign relations, he's encouraged racism, and he's set society back 50 years. Or he's done nothing. (depends on which left-wing person you ask)

If you ask his die-hard "Trumpers", "he's done more in the first 100 days than Obama did the entire 8 years in office", and when you prompt them to quantify that, you get generic platitudes about "greatness", and "toughness", etc...

In reality, he hasn't done much yet other than make some symbolic executive orders, some executive orders that will likely be struck down by what he refers to as "so-called judges" (Translated: "Whaaaa, the judges are forcing me to be a president instead of a dictator"), and some unfortunate cabinet appointments that may be problematic down the road if he keeps firing his opposition and attempting to stack the courts with people who will cater to him.

In a nutshell he hasn't really done anything yet...but some framework has been laid for some potentially negative things to happen 6-8 months down the road.

Police officers are a social discussion?

They are a part of one, yes.
Maybe you missed it but there's been this sort of discussion in America lately over blue lives and black lives and all lives etc....

The President putting the WH in the middle of a national debate was apparently a problem for some when it looked like this:

Here's hoping (though not expecting) some of those same people will be just as outraged over this pointless gesture.

I think this is merely a pandering technique for certain members of his base.

Particularly, the "Blue Lives Matter" types who want to defend law enforcement no matter what issues are currently happening within the institution.

If you're in a position of power, and you want to make some real changes to help an institution you strongly believe in, you either get the pen out and start writing some EOs, or you start working with key members of the house & senate to urge them to get the pen out and start authoring some bills.

You don't switch out the color of light bulbs...it's an empty gesture that's merely meant to pander.

I mean really..., a couple dozen home exterior blue spotlight bulbs is less than grandiose for a person who's A) in a position to actual influence policy change (for better or worse), and B) filthy rich. Home Depot sells 4 packs for $32. House the size of the white house? 10 packs ought to do it.

You heard it police of America...Trump loves you $320 worth...

If he really wanted to do something to improve the situation cops are in, he'd get his own personal check book out and write a check for $5,000,000 to be used toward training, and relationship building with certain communities. Ending the failed war on drugs might not be a bad idea either (it improves the situation for both citizens and law enforcement). However, the AG he picked doesn't seem to have any interest in doing that...

I have yet to see much of anything that isn't part of one. Being a black person can make you part of a political issue. I just wish people wouldn't be quick to make their job, skin color, place of origin, their sex, income level, part of a political issue.

And I bet people of particular jobs, skin color, place of origin, sex and income levels wish they weren't made into political issues either.

It is hard to get things done when you don't know what you're doing.

Is that a Martin Luther King quote?
