  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Yesterday I watched Trump's victory speech at the WH.

He held up the Washington Post newspaper that read in bold lettering "Trump Acquitted."

While holding the newspaper he was saying that "I did nothing wrong to be impeached."

Then he lowered the newspaper, looked down, and said "but I have done some wrong things."

That would be nothing for us to say, but for Trump it was a huge step in the right direction.

This is an old-school businessman that was taught early in his career to never show weakness, never admit to anything that could give a competitor the edge.

I have never heard Trump make an admission of this sort.

I'm praying that this is the beginning of a change of heart for our president.

Maybe so, or maybe it took the pride killing embarrassment of an impeachment for God to get his attention.
Well it certainly wasn't going to be all those people standing around him, making excuses, laying hands on him and telling him he's "GODS CHOSEN MAN, TO LEAD THIS COUNTRY TO GREATNESS!! MAGA!!" (tm) that would be telling him he's doing anything wrong.

For most people it would not have that effect. For Trump he will take it as a sign he can do anything without repercussion.

Just watch, he will go after everyone who went against him in the impeachment. And then he will ignore the rules again.

I don't know tulc, I'm just hoping for the best scenario for Trump's sake.

Unfortunately, he ended that speal with something like 'and look what happened, cleared' which to me was saying he got away with it, again, which does not foster change. But I join you in hoping for a change of heart for him.

If that is indeed the case, then the impeachment was worth it... it made our president a better person.

We'll have to pay attention to his future words and deeds to see if he's actually learned anything.

How so? What benefits him now by saying this?

We already have public statements from GOP Senators who, in spite of their "not guilty" votes, say they believe that Donald was in the wrong, but hope he has learned his lesson from this business... no doubt the moderate Republican voters are harboring similar hopes.

It's in his interests to deceive them into thinking they're right... not unlike the convict who tells the parole board, "Rehabilitated? Oh yes, sir. Absolutely, sir. I learned my lesson. I can honestly say I'm a changed man."
