  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Just wondering what my American friends think of the new Prime Minister-elect of Canada Justin Trudeau and the platform he was elected on. How will it impact the US?

Thank you.

You can read Al Mohler's Briefing on the subject.

Al wrote: "The development this week indicates that Canada in terms of many worldview issues which is already a nation decidedly less churchly and decidedly more secular, which is already a nation that has moved in so many of these directions in parallel with Europe."

Less churchly, more secular. Secularism marches on.

I think he should thank the United State military for making his election even possible. The main reason Canada does not need to pull its weight militarily is their superpower neighbors to the south.

Who was going to invade Canada?

It's not quite so much that he was the GREAT choice as the incumbent really was not liked. A lot of his party members heard, from door to door, that they didn't like him. The elected members of the party REALLY disliked his leadership style (all about power centralized on HIM). There was a member of his party who left because he didn't like that "guys in short pants were telling him what to do". He became independent and was named the parliamentarian that best represented his constituency. He made terrible decisions pandering to his base even when they flew in the face of professionals and learned opinions.

Still, the Liberals are alright.

Less Christian anyway. However, I would bet that gap will be filled.

Nobody, because of the U.S. Most of NATO can now say the same, but Canada most of all.

And without the U.S. ... someone was going to invade Canada? Iran? North Korea?

Mexico, of course. That's why we need Trump's wall.

And you don't think Canada would have negotiated a deal with Mexico to build a wall and have Mexico pay for it?

Thank you.
He seems a bit green (inexperienced) for the job but the government was headed for a change. Folks were too unhappy with the incumbent.
