Last night my dad came to my home and proceeded to have a badly thought out and obviously uninformed rant about me attending an SDA service on Saturday(which I thoroughly enjoyed by the way). The words cult and prods; short for protestant and pretty much considered a cuss word where I'm from, came up allot. There were several references made to the imminent doom of my family and the fact I'd be considered some type of sellout. Lol funny.
Anywho, I happened to be in possession of several copies of The Man Behind The Mask, and then the idea popped into my head.

So I says to the old geezer, ok I'll make you a deal. Now before you qualify you have to watch this DVD from start to end; if after having watched the DVD you still feel that I shouldn't attend the SDA, then I'll leave them behind.

Should give him something to chew over for the next few days Lol. :D

You should never let the feelings of another person dictate your actions. And what if, after watching it, he still says you are wrong? Have you considered that possible outcome?

18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any of you think you are wise by the standards of this age, you should become “fools” so that you may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness” 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.”

I am sorry you feel you have to use trickekry to effect your position. But that is what I have seen with SDA.

Yes I know, I realized when I was writing this I was being deceitful. I apologize and repent the statement.
However my crimes should not be used to attack the SDA as a whole. First of all as you can see with my little icon up there I don't actually considered myself a full SDA and secondly I'm sure most of the SDA's here would disapprove of my actions.

Glad to hear your apology. One of the 2 Greatest Commandments God gave thru Jesus is this:

Matthew 22:
36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

and another place He says: If you've done it unto the least of these my breathren you have done it unto me.

God Be with You

The bible calls people sheep because sheep are not cattle. They can not be driven from behind or they will scatter. Jesus wisely called Himself the good shepherd because He does not drive them from behind but calls them to be where He is. He leads by example.

If you believe you have received the great truth, then be a living testimony. When your father sees it in you and is convicted by spirit, he will want to have what you have.

The commandment says honour your father. Remember the good shepherd and his words.

Actually, if you had just not added the last part--that if he still did not want you to attend the SDA church, you wouldn't--it would not have been deceitful--just being a a good son and helping him to understand why you believe what you do--Oh, well--God bless!!

I'm not sure what type of believes the anabaptists have, but I assume and hope this was a typo?

Anabaptists don’t baptize infants or assume that everyone within a particular social group is a follower of Jesus. That is a personal commitment that each person must determine individually, and lives out in their own lives.

It's called a believer's baptism

Hope that clears it up.
