Traditions, customs, and quirks

Do you or your family have any traditions or customs that you observe on special occasions throughout the year? One of mine is what I've dubbed, "One day closer to death day". And I celebrate it every year on my birthday. I typically will go visit a cemetery or funeral home (if I can get access). It helps me remember the brevity of life and live the verse the psalmist wrote where he asked God to teach him to number his days so that he could apply his heart to wisdom.
