When someone has been abused, no matter the form, they are often robbed of so much...including, for some, the ability to even say "Ouch!" (an important step on the road to lasting healing). The following is offered for those who cannot find the words within themselves to begin....
Touch Me, Don't
Cringed in the cavern of my mind, I scream:
Is this for real? Or is it a dream?
Could I'd have been wrong? Oh, how could it be
That what I've just been through should happen to me?
Flesh that is burning! Heart split asunder!
Has this storm passed yet?...I still feel the thunder!
Couldn't you have loved me and I'd loved you back?
Where's the sunshine? Why's it so black?
Touching you nearness is all that I wanted,
But when you came losely, my life became haunted!
Do yo know that I loved you?...that you were endeared?
Why leave my heart sore, wounded, and smeared?
These are the things that I don't understand,
As I live in the questions 'bout the touch of a hand.
Step
To me, never has one been so healed, as the one who has been truly heard...Step
