Too old to join--inadequacy complex?

I'm going to be 37 next month. My brother's just a pup of 24, and is a sergeant, a Ranger, and a squad leader with the 82nd Airborne. Smart as a whip and can do anything physically. So I read the Ranger Handbook cover to cover, am halfway through the Combat Leader's Field Guide, practice PLFs off the roof of my shed, and drop for pushups every time I have a spare moment or need to clear my head at work.

Think I'm overcompensating for my dad liking my brother better? Just a little?

Well, if you can't join the military, you can probably go into local law enforcement. A number of police forces like theWashington DC Police have no upper age limit, and they're looking for people.
