• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

It's been quite a few years, but especially these last few months. I'll just sum up the months from January to now:

- My father (ex-cop) went to jail as a sex offender

- Had to deal with the media frenzy in a small town

- My parents divorced

- My mom moved far away

- My usually sweet husband started struggling with his temper and started showing signs of getting abusive.

- I almost left him, but he's getting counceling with our pastor now.

and now, the newest...

- My best friend, closer than a sister of 20 years, suddenly died of a brain anyeurism. She was only 29 years old and leaves behind five beautiful little girls, the youngest of which is only 2 weeks old. I miss her so badly. She was my sister, my friend and my closest confidant. We spoke to each other daily and didn't even go food shopping without each other.

I am filled with grief. These last few months have left me emotionally battered and stressed so badly, I walk around with raw nerves. My brain has shut down, so when I'm asked to make a decision, I can't seem to even think! I'm overwhelmed. I have two small children, ages 4 and 1 and am 8 months pregnant with my third.

Please pray. All this in just six months! I know God won't give us more than we can handle, but it's scary what we can handle.

I'm so sorry for your losses and all you are going through at this time when you are pregnant, too. I will pray for you. Have you seen a counselor? Sometimes that helps too when we are overwhelmed. I too know the stress of loss, I lost my dad weeks ago and am going through his house cleaning now. I feel like I want to run away sometimes. Take care.
