Nice to see that we agree on the fact that sometimes, a society as a whole has to regulate the actions of a single person for his or her own good. (Like forcing people to fasten a seatbelt).
Every society has to find it's own balance between freedom and security. On the one hand, you have people in pens, on the other hand, you have complete anarchy. I think the answer lies somewhere in the middle. If we put people in pens like cattle and manage their
lives for them, we could have much healthier people
and no freedom. We could trade one for the other, but
I prefer freedom. Even if it is freedom to be unhealthy.
Libertarians are not totally against the government, recognizing there are some legitimate functions. The CDC is one.The FBI's UCR? As much as I would support anything done by government. You may have noticed my libertarian political stance. In my mind, Rule #1 - as pertains to government - is "Less is better." Rule #2 is "See Rule #1."
And no funding for this research.Absolutely, I have no issue with research in making firearms safer; rendering them useless in the wrong hands....I want to see the politics taken out of it....therefore my suggestion of the FBI; there is good resources available and minimal political pressure.
A very common occurrance when people make posts
that say nothing.
