He is not alone in that teaching.Some guys make a compelling case that many signs were for other dispensations.I don’t know all that much about it. God bless

Yeah this position is known as 'cessationism'.

I lean this way as well, I'm not going to say that miracles don't happen today but I have my doubts. I have to admit I'm biased by bad experiences in Pentecostal churches.

As someone else mentioned, his viewpoint is that of cessationism. The problem with that viewpoint is that there is no biblical basis for it. The testimony of the Lord and His apostles is that Christians would heal the sick, raise the dead, etc. There may be fake healings but there are plenty of real ones, and I've personally been healed.

Personally, I am no expert in the matter, but I do know Jesus had this to say;

"But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah." (Matt 12:39 [NKJV])

What I glean from that passage is many sign seekers need to repent, and rather than chasing signs and wonders, we should be concerned with chasing Christ. In the Bible, there is always a purpose and reason for signs and wonders, and in most if not all instances, many witnesses, and the purposes vary. Whether these acts of God continue to be a way the living God manifests His power and glory may be up for debate, what is not up for debate is the notion any man can at will, cause God to act, as though God were his puppet, these types of men prevent other Christians from even being open to the idea from the foundation of faith. Personally, I look forward to the wonder of Christ's return, as do all cessasationists, and what a wonder it will be! Privately I flip flop on this subject, from spiritual poverty I suppose.

I am afraid Todd is a bit jaded by all the counterfeit out there.

It is the enemies plan to counterfeit real miracles of the Lord (they are his alone) which causes the unbelieving to disregard all of it and causes even believers to be disarmed in their faith from believing our Lord is the Lord of miracles and healing today.

Once you remove the mindset of doubt (understand) and selective bias, you then can proceed. Yes, the real tragedy isn't the alarm of supernatural, but the teaching of fear to others.

Have you faith? have it to yourself before God. Happy is he that condemns not himself in that thing which he allows.

And he that doubts is condemned if he eats, because he eats not of faith: for whatever is not of faith is sin.
