  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

After reading the 95 Thesis of Martin Luther I found myself wondering what this list would look like if it came out in the current day. What kind of things has Christendom burdened itself with needlessly and what kind of definitive statements could be made today to counter such things? I'd like to see what a 2005 list may look like.

I'll start out:

There is no room for any praise song that praises man within the worship of God.

To deny the need for sanctification is to deny the presence of justification.

Any proposed method of obtaining salvation that is centered on man approaching God on terms dectated by man is a blasphemy that should not be tolerated.

I was just thinking about this very thing myself this morning - wow what a coincidence. Here is one that I came up with on my way into work today:

"Imposing the tithe in order to attain church membership is no different than declaring that indulgences may save sins and should not be a requirement to attain and obtain direct fellowship with other believers."
